I went from maybe washing my face daily and applying sunscreen to using a whole bunch of shit.

Because I felt like it.

I use The Organics or The Original or something…

Now I have to look.

The Ordinary. Thanks for thinking of me you cunts.

In the morning I use face wash (which I have to let dry) and then finger my face with salicylic acid serum 2% (which I also have to let dry) before adding the moisturising cream which is called Natural Moisturizing factors, and then I top it off with some 50+ spf sunscreen.

Just thinking about my skin routine every morning and night has added 50 years to my face.

Would not recommend

I've been blessed with pretty good skin, though I do think I need to moisturize a bit. I have found that my face looks healthier now that I scrub it a few times a week with a loufa (sp?) and decent body wash. It really helps keep the pours clear. Drinking more water and getting away from sodas has helped as well.

Also wear less skin care. Let your skin breathe. I only use sunscreen, make-up remover, face wash, with a little moisturizing when the weather is deadass dry💀. Exfoliate twice a week to unclog the pores, and that’s it.

My area is very humid, which is generally unpleasant, however I find it does keep skin from drying out as quickly. I probably wasn't very bright for not wearing sunblock while working outside, but it seems that the damage was minimal. I do concur that less is more for skin health in regards to product usage.

You will feel that later, with all the melasma. I strongly recommend sunscreen, even when you’re working inside.
And you’re right, humidity can be uncomfortable, but it helps a lot regarding to the skin.

What I’ve realised is not everyone is the same. We don’t all need the same things. I look very young for my age and I’m lucky. Up until now I wash my face with whatever and then apply sunscreen. Good genes. No wrinkles at all. And at my age most people have at least one or two or many. Could be my love of Korean food who the fuck knows. But at least now I’m paying attention

I'm obviously missing something, but sunscreen even when inside? I'm lucky if I get 20 minutes of sunshine daily.

Yes, especially when you sit near to exposed windows (I do), because the UVA and UVB rays can get through glass. And also the light from digital screen can do harm to your skin.

Maybe I’m a little (no it’s not little) control freak when it comes to my sunscreen routine, but I feel safe by doing it, so I keep doing it anyway. But if you’re all good there, then have it your way. You do you honey♥️

Oh I'm absolutely taking into account everything you're saying. I was aware that looking at a computer screen all day is bad for your eyes, but I never considered that it could be bad for one's skin. I do stay away from windows most of the day and the windows in my room open to a courtyard with very little direct sunlight. I think I'm okay in that regard, but it's something to keep in mind. I appreciate all the input, and I bet your skin is delightful. :)

The sunscreen can also be a good daily moisturizer for your skin. If the humidity in your area is high, and you don’t want to feel too heavy on your skin, you can consider sunscreens that have lighter textures (milky or watery texture), it will be easier to absorb into your skin. However, you need to re-apply the sunscreen more frequently since it’s just a thin coat.

Awwww. Thank you. I’m trying my best here. I bet your skin is also glowing with enough water drinking♥️

I never considered sunscreen as a moisturizer. That does make sense. I'm going consider adding that.

I am curious, I know it's not my face, but I'm having some issues with my collars irritating the skin on my neck and it's reddening it. I've been trying fabric softeners and such for the search, but I'm wondering if there's something I can apply to the skin of my neck to help.

Actually I wouldn’t recommend any cosmetic products for your neck skin right now. Your skin might get some allergies when contacting with the fabric from the collars, and the cosmetic products might contain who-knows-what and somehow increase the irritation.
I think you should remember to keep your neck skin clean and dry all the time. When you take a shower, just lightly rub the neck area with your hands. I guess keeping your towel clean as well😄😄😄

I’m sorry if this message came a little late 🙁🙁🙁😔😔😔🥹🥹🥹🥲🥲🥲

No need to apologize! I'm happy for the advice. It's been an ongoing problem. I am noticing that it's only certain shirts that I wear that cause the irritation, so my investigation continues.

Thanks, and I'll be sure to drink coffee, after this large cup of coffee is properly disposed of.;) I have also received some very helpful PMs with great suggestions for lotions to help the skin on my neck.

The lotion is for my neck. Honest.

I’m sure that the lotion is for nothing but your neck 🤣🤣🤣
Coffee is not very good for your skin because caffeine is actually a dehydrator. Unless yours is decaf. So drink responsibly.

Ha! The lotion is absolutely for my neck. I've been pretty self conscious about the redness.

I do balance the coffee and water intake. One cup of coffee in the morning, black, and then switch to water afterwards. I started doing that to help with joint pain, but it's also really helped my skin. :)

Good for you. I think water can help relieve several symptoms. Bad skin? Have some water. Headache? Ditto. Feel constipated? Well, you know to do.

Anyway, good luck with your neck♥️
