There's snow up to the windows and I don't have a shovel. I don't even think there's a place within walking distance where I can GET a shovel. This blows.

Damn that is a lot of snow. Hope you get it cleared and get on with today.

There's a shovel in the snow right outside my apartment. Think anyone would mind if I just borrowed it for a little bit?

My landlord saw me shoveling with the borrowed shovel (it happened to be his) and he told me that later on in the day he'd get some guys to get my car out.

It's great being a woman sometimes.

weird....... this van full of women just saw me shovelling and offered to massage me when I was done..... but then I woke up:(

I'm still staring out the window, wondering if I should go dig my car out now, or wait until the snow has stopped.

Anyone else ready for summer?

looked at from a different perspective, we may be runnin out of good snowman-making opportunities.....

maybe you could make a lil midget snowman on top of your car?....
Lol.

No thanks- more work when the snow has to be cleared off of it.

I have a dentist appt at 9:40 in Forest Hills, but I cancelled it right after I went outside and saw how much snow was on my car.
I would have liked to have gone to the gym though.

I wanted to at least get the snow off the door and start it because it's been sitting there since Friday. I managed to do that before my landlord told me he'd get someone to dig it out for me.

Good thing I've been working out, or else I wouldn't have been able to do that without being sore.

Enjoy your snow, we like our snowless winter in this part of the country! *thumbing my nose at mother nature*

shovelling my driveway today is gonna be quite a workout itself.... maybe Ill make a bunch of little snowmen next to the driveway, so I can pretend they're cheering me on...

Might be a good idea to actually have a small snow shovel of your own in the trunk for emergencies. I'm a firm believer in having a blanket, first aid kit, spare gloves, hat, oil, washer fluids, anti freeze, flashlight, small tools etc etc for emergencies.

I dunno...maybe it's a guy thing.....na....it's a David thing, cuz I dont know many guys even that have emergency supplies in the trunk like I do.

Do you know a small Italian restuarant in Queens called Carmines?

Okay so I couldn't even find my car in the seven foot high snow drift against the garage. It took the last hour with the help of the plowguy to get it out of there. What fun.

But I've discovered a new babysitter...you can never have too many of those handy! :D

Just FYI to everyone caught in this blizzard, I have done extensive snow removal, plowing, blowing, and shoveling in my life, and although its nice to stay inside and wait for 21 inches to fall and go out then and deal, you are better off, and safer to deal with that kind of blizzard every two hours or so, and peal it off 3-4 inches at a time.

It's safer too.

Dont forget about helping out those seniors that cant do it themselves also.

You're right, but hindsight is 20/20.

I actually have a lot of the things you mention inmy emergency roadside kit: washer fuid, flashlight, first aid kit, oil, antifreeze, and a couple of tools. I also have jumper cables (but doesn't everyone?).

Funspirit, I think you should make the snowmen- cute idea.

Cheyenne, you just had to rub it in, didn't you?

Bknight, there are times when it's wonderful to be a woman, and times when it blows chunks. That's just my opinion.

My driveway is about half the lenth of a football field. This is going to kill my back.

Not when you have no place to make snowmen. I'm in Queens.

I was just in Astoria because I work on the Triboro. Walking down Hoyt ave, I saw that the plows had buried all the cars and thought to myself "There are going to be a lot of cold wet grumpy commuters this day". And probly a lot of heart attacks.

This is another reaqson you should have been dealing with it as it fell instead of sitting in the house and wishing it would stop snowing.

We got four inches in the last day, and I pushed and swept the snow three times......

If I got a 21 inch fall, I would have done it at least ten times instead of doing it once and having it take five hours, and an emergency room/ chiropractor visit.

Don't forget the 6-ton comealong, shackles, nylon chokers and 100 feet of heavy chain. You will never get stuck again.

What really blows is we only seem to be getting the great "snow day" weather on weekends and school breaks!

HI, minxie.

I have three shovels and would share.

I might even shovel for you, for a price, or favors? ;)
