Confession--I love trek fanfic. I also love the character of Q, who is one of the most fun characters to write for, even though I didn't create him.
I started writing a story 8 years ago...Katherine and Q. It was one of those files you keep at the back of your writing folder, taking out every now and again when you had time, or just needed a break from your "real" writing. This past week I took it out, dusted it off after a few years of writing about parenting and sexuality (because I had a kid and it was the topic nearest to my heart), and realized I still really liked it. So I sat down and wrote out the last 3 chapters (8, which had been half finished for over a year, 9 and 10).
It kind of blows me away that this story was part of my life before I even met my partner, much less had a kid. Now that it's done, I'm proud to put it out there, but I'm also at a bit of loose ends.
Ever feel that way? Which one of your stories is like that for you?
