I Cannot Believe that HuffPo Published This

Cisco, for instance, was exposed as routing job applications from American engineers to an immigration law office, rather than to engineering managers, apparently to gather evidence that no qualified Americans were available for the job taken by a foreign worker.

The immigration lawyer was deciding who was “qualified.” A former manager at Oracle accused the firm of justifying underpayment of an H-1B by saying, “It’s good money for an Indian.”

Unless Renault and Saab repairs take off.

You cannot believe it because you usually pay the most attention to news sources (like American Wanker) that publish one single point of view.

I'm sure he accidentally clicked a link in his Junk mail folder.

That is the view of those sources you fucking idiot. Luk and you are trying to race to the bottom this morning. Luk thinks it's "fair" to hold humble immigrants to the level of an indentured servant as long as he can be in opposition to anything I say.

Interesting article, but it left me with a lot of questions.

I found a good article to help fill in a few holes and it also added more information to the picture.

I don't know if it was intentional, but these H-1B visas certainly make companies who control information (facebook & google) beholden to the government. I especially like the part where they talk about an extra fee the Big Boys had to pay for each application that has now expired. How convenient.

It's not about their salaries.

An H1 visa allows one to apply for a greencard, if the institution sponsors them.
Whereas if one is on a J1 visa, they have to return to their country of origin for a period of time after their contract expires.

read that article I linked, it's interesting.

federal law requires global companies employing large numbers of H-1B workers to sign a declaration saying they will not displace Americans. But there is a loophole: An exemption cancels that requirement if employers pay H-1B workers at least $60,000 a year — significantly less than an experienced technology worker’s salary in many parts of the country.

Also, the individual doesn't apply for the visa, the business does it. If I understand it correctly.

They ran an article, with almost the exact same title, back in August.

"Mr. Trump has also used the current H-1B program to his advantage at his properties in Florida. The H-1B’s issued to the Trump properties were for non-technical service jobs, not for specialized critical technology development by specialized talent as many current program supporters would advocate. Mr. Trump has rightly pointed out that he possessed the right legal and financial resources to obtain the H-1B visa.

I read it; excellent article.

Aaah. It actually looks like a good move, if I understood correctly:
- to give priority to valuable ones and to weed off the companies who are looking for cheaper labour and not necessarily for more skilled employees.

The media loves Trump. Subscriptions and viewership are climbing ever higher.

I've only been posting that same info for how many years now?

That goes for pretty much all sides of all topics.

I know. But when we do it, it's not valid because of the source.

It still amazes me that the editors at HuffPo let this one get by without spiking it.

Mainly because what is true of the H1 visa program is the same for illegals and refuges; it is almost human trafficking...
