and it fucking hurts!
dislocated, and cracked in 3 places.
i'm all bandaged up, splinted (yep, mini-splints for toes.... whodathunk?), and popping anti-inflammatories like jellybeans... and the ice stocks are depleting fast.
refused both surgery and cast, as i have two 13 yr olds in the house and school hols start on the weekend (no way can i be off my feet!)
dammit, i need sympathy

you have my sympathy....broken toes really hurt.

Now harden up, call yourself an amazon?.....

lol

bummer! I had a bass dropped on mine last week, but I just blead a lot and it hurt. Not borken though.

Keep it elevated when you can.

ouch buy some biofreeze- to numb it up for temp relief. Walk on heel. Put weight on other foot. And for fucks sake don't bang the toe again darlin:rose: EAT something with those anit-inflams or they will screw up your stomach lining. Poor baby HUG

i have a hard shell, filled with marshmallow.
i'll harden up when the toe is smaller than a frankfurter and stops throbbing.
fuck it - of all the things to happen

i'm keeping my foot up on a chair when i can.... but i'll have to move around soon to cook dinner (the rest of the household can only burn baked beans, and i refuse to eat bad food!)

thank god i have an automatic car! but not being used to using my left foot on the accelerator means i'm catching myself far above the speed limit!

OW. Which toe? I cracked my little one once and the doctor just mocked me and handed me a roll of tape.

~sigh~ i know about the eating thing.... but i barely eat at all any more, so remembering to is quite hard.

heh - you would not believe the lengths i've gone to avoiding kicking it again!
i almost wish i had one of those wire muzzle things they use for greyhounds to put over the end of my foot!

2nd one - like the index?
a rock jumped out and attacked me on my walk.
yes, i know - i shouldn't have been barefoot...
but i hate shoes!
now i'm paying for the no-shoe thing and mean-tempered rocks :(

Vicious little fuckers, rocks. . .

LOL I/we live in the home of broken toes. I've broken toes jumping out of bed with cramps & trying to stretchout the cramp but always seemed to find my toes getting busted. It wasn't just me either BANDIT:heart: got attacked be a chair that broke her toe.

Fill a dish with cold water & ice & plonk the foot in, some emu oil rubbed in after dried.

ummm Some more thoughts. :rose: If you have any really big over sized padded socks that you could just ease over your toes to pad them? Drink heavy creamed tea or coffee with a bit of toast or a cookie or two? Try and stay away from carbonated drinks. If you have anything you can use as a cane or walking stick?? Got duct tape and a wire tea strainer to fit over toes???:)

Do you have a good orthopedic shoe (hard soled, open toe with extra room at the end so the toes don't come into contact w/ anything)? That shoe and using a crutch saved me when I hurt my big toe joint in November.

Toes take a long time to heal, since you can't stay off them. Mine's still sore on occasion, even though I was religious with R.I.C.E. and exercising it. If there was a greater chance of long-term pain without, I'd take the surgery and cast for sure!

Here's to feeling better and quick healing! :rose:

Awww..if i could i'd serenade you to make you feel better. but you might feel worse.

But why did they want to do surgery?
That makes this sound a little more serious.

Don't fuck with your feet.
Let it heal properly.
I did something similar about 8 years ago by thinking I could get by without resting properly, and I'm still suffering from it.

i have broken my big toe twice and it aches a lot in the damp weather.
sucks

my sympathies

they want to pin the toe, which means a cast as well.
i cannot do that - i have two 13 yr old girls about to go on 2 weeks school holidays....
can you imagine the hell if i'm not able to keep up?

Then let them take care of you in those 2 weeks.
