They're probably praying a federal judge will step up and put a stop to his executive order.

What I love most about this (even thought the libs will scream "He was against it when Obama was President!") is that the whole time we were debating Obama's use of executive order, all the Democrats (and those moderate "centrists") did was compare his quantity to Bush's while ignoring the quality. They defended him, he has to do this because Congress is obstructionist!

One of the points that I, for one, kept raising was that not only was he setting a precedent for the next President, but the next President could simply reverse them with pen and phone. Of course I was laughed at because as everyone knew, the Republican Party had been slain and there would never again be a Republican President...

And they believed that as Gospel truth right up into the wee hours of the morning following the election.

Since then, they've been apoplectic.

Remember how "SchuckNJiveCare" applied to congress and their staffers but the howl went up and Obama EO'd that requirement out of existence? I'd like to see that rule reinstated, then those sons a bitches will really scream.

I wonder if Maxine reviews her past statements and say, "God was I full of shit."

I'd love to see Trump lay that shit on the Congress with another EO.:D

I second the motion.

No, Maxipad thinks that God is full of shit and that she is infallible.

It's like that old joke, "What the difference between God and a surgeon?"

;) ;)

Oops, wrong thread. This is the angry hate filled old man thread

Perhaps the Obama appointed judge who had to recuse herself from a case because of her affiliation with LaRazza.

Every time I hear that I think it ought to be some Latin dance craze that'll burn itself out in a year or less.

is that the whole time we were debating Obama's use of executive order,

It is however an inconvenient fact that Obama's use of executive orders was the least of any President in the last 130 years.

Trumps rate of use is about double that of Obama's - roughly similar to Eisenhower. ;)

Is an EO rescinding an EO an EO or a counter-EO?

Most of Trump's EOs are simple reversals of Obama's EOs.

Valid observation but it doesn't change the fact that Obama's numbers were the least since Grover Cleveland. It might be interesting to analyse the what and why of their use by different Presidents.

With a comatose Congress one might expect an increase. A fair number of Trump's have actually followed Obama's as pretty reasonable budget cost cutting measures. But those are not the ones that get media attention.

Mmm, dont think so entirely - if you said most of Trump's controversial EO's then yes, but a lot are generated by the Inability of Congress to pass anything. particularly budget/cost cutting measures.

Kinda ironic that both Trump and Obama have the same problem of a dysfunctional Congress.

It's not the quantity, or lack thereof that should be the consideration. It's the content and whether it meets constitutional standards or not. Obama's record on the front isn't all that stellar.

Re. congress. I have to agree with you. The congress critters have figured out that always railing against something but not doing anything about it is the path to re-election and we, the electorate, keep buying that shit. They set up these windmills to tilts at and then tell us that so and so blocked me, or the horse got tired, or some other lame excuse. The only way around it is to get a constitutional amendment term limiting their useless asses.
