Oh whatever!

I am sure some of you have noticed I can't seem to ever remember "i before e"! It is a mental block for me. Every time I spell recieve....receive....I have to say the stupid rhyme!

I can remember phone numbers from ten years ago, important and quasi important dates of family events, the ingredients in certain recipes....but "i before e"?

NOT!

What is your mental block, grammatically or otherwise?

I can't remember how to spell easier...easiar...easiear...oh to hell with it...

I before E except after C, or when sounded as A as in "neighbor" and "weigh",
and on weekends, holidays, and all throughout May, you'll always be WRONG NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.

Ummmm....truthfully.....the same as yours! I always feel like an idiot reciting that stupid rhyme!!

Well, Pamela....

at least it isn't as obvious as counting on our fingers and toes !

:D

Seriously, a psychologist that I worked with many years ago beleived....believed that we all have learning disabilities to some degree or another. For him, it was transposing phone numbers. I wonder if my "mental block" is indicative of a learning disability?

Who knows? Just something that crossed my mind in the wee hours!

mine is i've a rare type of dyslexia and like sounding letters sound the same like all the vowels for instance, c and s, t and d or grouped letters ought and will reallly fuck up my mind.
