For the Most part i was once again soarly upset by the "popular" preachers, and its a shame that they are the one that most people think represent christianity.

But on a cheery note there were three or four programs that surprised me and gave me hope.

2 low budget churches have a program on there and gave proper thoughts on love one another and anti bigotry, anti-racism , basically a proper response to what happened not the Falwell the gays causes this attitude{that still has me brimming mad by the way}

and 2 muslim programs {yes i watch what other religions have too} did excellent shows on why what osabim laden did is agasint everything the quoran{sp} and islam represents. They explained the true definition of Jihad and ther things that laden is claiming is his authority for doing so. they explained how suciders do not get the blessing when they purposely go after civilians in war. It was very informative and education in light of what is happening.

My saddened arose again when I realized that they came on from 2-4 AM in the morning and the population which needs to see both sets of programs won't get to see them :(

My grandfather's rule about television preachers

They don't represent anyone but themselves. If a preacher is on television, he had to buy a church because a real church wouldn't have him. Believe him only when he's reading from the Bible and you are following along to make sure he reads it right.

very wise amn your grandfather

The two that were good, I would not say they had churches any bigger than 100 or so, the video looked camcordish. and they were very nervous humble men, unlike the falwells, and bakers etc. very good programs the two christian ones and the two islam ones.

which explains why they were on in the middle of the night

I caught part of that program ABC did for kids on Saturday morning and the during the bit I saw, a representative of the Arab-American community was answering some questions about Islam. I was really glad to see the way it was handled and encouraged by how the kids who were at first just parroting what they had probably heard at home and at school started to get interested in the topic and some of the important distinctions. I think they were supposed to replay that show sometime today. Wish I had seen the whole thing.
