A couple nights ago I got pretty outrageously out of hand on a thread dealing with the words in the Pledge of Allegence!
After thinking about it and stewing for a while, I feel I owe an appology! My mind was on the values I have learned and tried to live up to from the Army.

Loyality: Bear true faith and allegence to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, Your unit, and other Soldiers.

Duty: Fufill your obligations.

Respect: Treat people as they should be treated.

Selfless-Service: Put the welfare of the Nation, The Army, and your Subordinates before your own.

HONOR: Live up to all the Army values.

Intregrity: DO WHAT'S RIGHT, LEAGALLY AND MORALLY.

Personal Courage: Face fear, danger, or adversity (Physical or Moral).

Which leades to the SOLDIER'S CODE.

#1. I am an American soldier - a protector of the greatest nation on earth sworn to uphold the Constitution to the United States.

#2. I will treat others with dignity and respect and expect others to do the same.

#3. I will honor my Country, the Army, my unit and my fellow solidiers by living the Army Values.

#4. No matter what situation I am in, I will never do anything for pleasure, profit or personal saftey which will disgrace my uniform, my unit, or my Country.

#5. Lastly, I am proud of my Country and it flag. I want to look back and say that I am proud to have served my Country as a soldier.

If the military can change the Oath of Enlistment to: I swear or afferm, then the Pledge can be changed also to maybe: "under God( under my God or no God), "indevisable" I feel should stay.

Remember Hitler was an Atheist!

We are a proud nation and we stuck together, along with 27 other nations on 09-11-01!

I can go along with change if it is healthy for EVERYONE! In Star Trek, Spock dying said it all " The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one!" I'm not trying to preach, but Jesus laid down his life for everyone, not just Christians, but atheists, buddists, agnostics, mormans, jones cultests............Etc...........I could go on.................

A special appoligy to Sunstruck, forgive me for attacking your thinking!

I am a firm beliver in FREEDOM! Call me a Warmonger if you will, but I will lay down my life to protect our way of life, our freedom, our country! If there was a "Red Dawn", belive me I'll be one of the first to sign up and go with out reserve, with out question, with out remorse!

How many of YOU will do this?

This thread is not meant for discussion, criticism, or comment, it is meant for an appology only!

Forever at YOUR service, #1 Tank Commander!

Your post conjures thought...but I'll respect your wish and leave them to myself....

P.S-I was thinking of commenting on your apology then apologizing to you for doing so. But I only thought that for a second...

Who cares? Passion is good. Gets the message across.

Hell, the JUDGE got the message because of patriots like yourself. Stand up and be proud man! Don't let the weak-kneed Liberals make you feel like you've done something bad...

Thank you for your support.........

Vinny, Shaq and SINthysist, and last but not least Marksgirl for your comments! I know there is a solution, but at what cost? Not everyone will be happy, no one is. Thus "the needs of the many, out weigh the needs of the few!"

Enough said!

"The Needs of the Many Outweigh the Needs of the Few"- Star Trek

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."- The First Amendment, United States Constitution.

If you believe in Jesus and the christian God, then more power to you. However, this does not give you the right to impose that belief upon others. This is irregardless of what Mr. Spock thinks. (He was actually proven wrong about that statement when he was rescued in the third movie and Kirk said: "Sometimes the needs of the few, or the one, outweigh the needs of the many" <paraphrasing>)

I know you said you didn't want discussion, but sometimes you can't always have what you want.

Apology throughly accepted. Everyone gets out of hand every now and then.

We're probably never going to agree on very much, but I respect anyone that can stand up and admit when they have gone too far.

Thank you.
