I am unable to even think of words strong enough to show my dislike of this.

Lynxe and Lamb Gaede also known as Prussian Blue. Twin twelve year old girls who are highly talented musicians. Too bad they are died in the wool scum bags and are almost as bad as their parents.

I'm watching it right now. It's fucking disturbing.

"Hitler killed six million jews!"
"I think that's an exaggeration. I don't think there were even that many Jews alive at that point."

Cat, you have to rephrase yourself. I first thought that the girls had died in wool bags. It took me a couple of run-throughs to realize that it's "dyed-in-the-wool" scum bags. Admittedly, I'm running slower due to rum and colas, but don't do this to me.

Don't need to click the link. I've seen those sad examples of humanity before.

Sometimes, I am deeply ashamed of the species of which I am a member.

I guess it's not surprising that racist parents will raise racist children. It's sad that their musical talent is giving them a forum for those views - a forum that will reach other developing young minds.

Perhaps, one day, they will regret this. Perhaps not.

Sorry about that. Tequila is taking it's toll of my fingers.

Bob,

I am never ashamed of my species, just certain parts of it. Just as I don't hate segments of my species, just individuals.

Apology accepted. They are scum bags, but I'm never surprised anymore.

Actually, that's the estimate I've always heard.

From the Holocaust Memorial Museum's website:

"In 1933, the Jewish population of Europe stood at over nine million. Most European Jews lived in countries that the Third Reich would occupy or influence during World War II. By 1945, close to two out of every three European Jews had been killed as part of the "Final Solution", the Nazi policy to murder the Jews of Europe."

After reading the rest of this thread, I think it's safe to say I'll not be clicking that link.

Edit to add: Never mind...I just re-read your post. I didn't catch that you had quotes about it being an exagerration and thought you were saying that. It's been a looong day and I'm slow.

I knew a man who had been one of the liberators of a camp like that.

Ever see "Band of Brothers"? These girls ought to have talked to Col. Thurston, as I did. But a lot of the White Supremacist people affect not to believe the death camps really happened. Then their children grow up disbelieving it entirely.

That's okay, I have those days too :)

But yeah, I know better than to say such things. Had it all in history class, and about seventeen times, because it just cannot be overemphasized.

Not to mention co-opting a particularly lovely shade of blue- That's unforgivable as well.
(Not tequila for me, a nice Aussie merlot)

I once met a creepy white power fascist guy who told me how his little brother had been suspended from school at age 12 for attacking a schoolmate...with a baseball bat...for being black. This same person told me that fascism was nothing more than a family structure. While he wasn't much of a charmer himself, I found myself VERY angry with his parents (whom I'd never met). How can people raise children, who are pure, to be so hateful? My own parents used to be both homophobic and racist...they "gave up" (at least in front of me) after I brought home a girlfriend and then a black boyfriend. I think that was also about the time they gave up on thinking I was gonna "give" my sister "queer". *Sigh*

[/rant]

MJett,

If you have read an earlier post of mine you know what kind of family I come from. My father is a rascist and a bigot without question. However he has accepted without question the adopted son of my brother, (another story and sadly funny.) The little boy happens to be black. Also even though I know how he feels about certain types of people I know that I could introduce him to my wife's and mine friend without fear of him rejecting her. (He is a strange one, he is a rascist until it comes to individuals which leads me to think there is hope for the old dog yet.)

As for me, I'll let my actions speak for me.

I own books which would get me in quite a bit of trouble here in the United States. Books made by people such as a German Phtographer during WWII and a camp survivor. (his camp was freed by the Russians who treated the Jews even worse than the Germans did in some cases.)

I know the history, I am not allowed to forget the history. Maybe that's one of the reasons groups like these anger me so much.

My anger with people like these girls and their parents is sometimes rather medieval.

It's always disturbing to me to see small children spouting hate and racism. You know that they're just parroting what they've been told to say, but it's still disturbing as hell.

On a related note....my best friend's husband is black, she is white. We were going down the road the other day with my youngest in the car with us, and her two boys. We were talking about racism, and I said, "You know, I don't think that C. even knows what skin color is. I bet if you asked him what color J. was, or what color he is, he would have absolutely no idea what you were asking.

She turned back towards the backseat. "C, what color is J.?" (C is mine). He looked at her for a long time...you could tell he was genuinely puzzled. Then he said, "Chat chat, you don't make any sense." then went back to playing with the others. (Chat chat is short for Chasity).

He has no idea, and I like it that way.

Cloudy,

I love you that you have taught your little one this, and I like your little one without meeting him. HE is the future of humanity.

One great fear Eisenhower had, was that future generations wouldn't be able to believe the holocaust. So he went out of his way to make sure documentary and other evidence were not only preserved, but authenticated. Thanks to him and other far sighted people, who knew all to well the ability of good people to not be able to accept or understand evil, denying the holocaust is pretty close to impossible without embracing vast conspiracy theories with no substance.

Prussian Blue is a rather interesting name. In that the Prussians were the dominant militarist class in germany. And germany's highest award for bravery is the Blue max.

In this case, I think perhaps, people should remember that a twelve year old is not mature. And a 12 year old raised in a stultifying atmosphere of pervasive hate will have little, if any control over the values they absorb. Hitler was well aware of that, as the creation, funding and program of the Hitler Youth shows all too clearly.

Anger at parents who would raise their children in such an enviornment is natural and understandable, but carrying that anger over to the kids is perhaps unfair, no matter how badly they seem to deserve it.

Agreed. The university I attended as an undergraduate had an English language translation of a Hitler Youth handbook. Possibly the creepiest thing I have ever seen. I felt about it ... well, roughly the well I feel about the scold's bridle, really. It makes my back creep.

The thought reminds me of a movie I saw a long time ago ... too long to remember the name of it. It was unusual; it was structured as a series of scary stories that two men tell each other over a campfire in the American west, I think late-1800's era. They try to creep each other out with the most frightening stories they can come up with, and the last one of the movie - the scariest one - is very simple. It's a story about a little girl who loves her daddy even though he's a racist. She keeps trying to get him to see the good in people of other races. And the creepy, horrible end is ... her agreeing with him one day, just to please him. The two characters at the campfire - one black and the other white, and I can't remember who tells the story - end up shuddering and then nodding to the wisdom of it. It is, after a series of spooky and supernatural tales of vengeance, the scariest thing either of them could come up with. Evil wins.

Another scary one, because it is so plausible, was: "The Perfect Student."
