It's been headed this way for a while now........
I haven't hid it - I even foretold to you all - of this time - time for Sparky to fade away from this board.
Yep, I got bored.
The Troll shit was my last shot at wrenching some passion from the board - and passion is exactly what I've been missing here of late. If it's misperception on my part, simply because "it's worn thin here" - or because a few of the more passionate souls here have also moved on (DCL, Exp, MP, CB for the summer, and other's) - or a combo of both - I don't know - I don't care much.
The real news is......
I got my new motorcycle!!!! And it's even cooler than I thought!!! I joined the international club which is dedicated to it - and guess what(!?!) - they got a chat board where all we do is talk moter-head shit and only about our bikes and how much better they are than anyone else's. Way too cool. I posted there, cracked a couple of jokes - I'm in like Flint. I will meet up with some of these guys and ride in RL very soon. They do charity work too. This biker board is no doubt, a lot more RL than here. And if you really read my stuff from the Lit board - I guess that's what I always tried to initiate here. More RL! I always found the lack of RL, the seemingly willful desire among many members to, "pretend to be another person here," to be quite ludicrous. So I tempted, I prodded, I sometimes attempted to shock - hell(!) sometimes I probably did shock.
But - it was all an experiment - an experiment to attempt to bring, "those hidden," (who I feel must have "some problems" simply because of their desire to remain and play that way) - out into the realm of truth - self truth. A healthy self-truth.
I felt the logic was clear: No matter how truthful you elected to be on this board - you still had a major barrier of anonymity to protect you. So - why not let everyone know who you are? Really, why not? What harm would be done? But I know now why -
I know why lurkers, lurk. Why roll player's play out fantasies. Why Trolls troll. Why people not only enjoy - but must because they are driven - somehow pretend to be something other than they are.....
It's easy......
They don't like who they are in RL. And this? This eases that pain.
And ya know - even though I would lvery much ike to help ease that pain in a "real way" - some folks just don't want that sort of treatment. I understand that now. I've come to understand that most probably - their best treatment - is a degree of fantasy.
But Sparky - he needs something a bit more RL - and this new motorcycle board, thus far - seems to provide me with that. But hey, that's just me.
And of course......
You are you. So be it. You all have all the fun you can. I will lurk from time to time - I will make good on sending out that second batch of CD's and will answer all my e-mail. I might even post from time to time.
But the days of Uber Spark - uber posts - and uber pissing off those so easily pissed off - are done.........

Seems like all the people that have made this board interesting are taking their leave as of late. Going to miss you like hell, Sparky. Make room for other soon-to-be Ex-Lit members. More and more keep leaving every week these days.

Can't say I fully agree with your analysis but I do agree with your sentiments.
I've been pretty bored with the board myself lately. And, I too, miss some of the more passionate voices that have moved on...
Anyway congrats on the new bike and related activities.
