When I am in a hurry I tend to just put things down. Then I can't find them. I try to put things like my purse in the same place every time but again if I am in a hurry I put it down. I love my phone because I can call it. Is there any devices you have used where you can call your keys or buzz them. Seriously, I am searching my life away.

I once spent several highly aggravating minutes frantically searching for my car keys only to discover I was holding them in my hand. True story.

I am always laying stuff down. I do it absentmindedly and end up retracing my steps to find whatever i've lost.

How do you call your phone if it's lost?

I have an 'everything basket' in each of the main living spaces in the house.
If I have to put something down, it goes into the basket.
Then if I misplace something, first place to look in in the baskets - and almost always it's in one of them.

If we calculate all the time we spend to look for stuffs in our life, that will be an incredible number!

I've been told to keep up on puzzle like games to keep your memory intact. Crosswords, criptoquip, sudoku, etc. Has it been progressive, or have you always found your keys in the freezer?

Gives new meaning to the saying, "you ain't seen nothing yet".

PS: don't forget to wipe and wash.

You sound like my wife.

Every two months she goes into a frenzy of getting organized.

Then she ignores her organizational scheme for two months and then goes crazy because we are so disorganized and then she goes into a frenzy of getting organized.

Of course, I put everything in a spot and everything has its spot. I cannot function if I know something has not been put into its place. I have routines that make OCD look like garden-variety organization...

Cell phone - sorry;). I call it from my land line - it is somewhere in the house. Thanks for the great ideas and concern over whether my memory lapses will advance. I am going to check into some kind of device for my keys and purse. The suggestions you gave helped.I just tend to lay things down instead of taking the extra time to put it in the same place so I know where it is. I run in with groceries and throw my purse on the floor. Things like that.
