I Am So Lucky!

I am receiving so many PMs from hopeful writers that are rookies and are in need of a direction. They ask for so little, just a push in the "write" (sorry) direction. I love them every one, but...

We should host an "editor" day. I realize I'm being ridiculous, but could this happen ??

I apologize, a hopeful gesture on my part.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star...

There Are So Many

I hadn't before realized what an ignored sector that this was. Or perhaps the magnet that is Lit is drawing more and more...

I can clearly see that the need for editors is growing, but even more is the demand for qualified editors!

Out of my love for LadyC and CC and others, I'll be willing to put my own (sigh) aspirations aside because I believe in this cause. I'll take on additional clients (I prefer newbies that I can mentor as that is where I believe i can do the most good).

In A Perfect World...

I tend to be overly optimistic. I think the freedom of a person to express their thoughts through writing is such a monumental achievement. I have helped hopeful writers do just that. I acknowledge that I have been blessed (or cursed) to have such an urge.

If the bug has bit you, I can help if you're patient.

Sounds like a good idea. What did you have in mind?
I don't know what he had in mind, but the image it conjured up in my mind was a sort of Mad Hatter's Tea Party with everyone arguing about UK versus US English, which of those spelling conventions apply in Canada, whether the passive mood can ever be tolerated, and numerous other equally mission-critical life-and-death matters.

And now for the crucial question: how high must a participle be suspended before it qualifies as a hanging participle?

No, no, you don't understand. A hanging participle is one which has appeared before Judge Jeffries.

Hm this is an interesting idea...

Perhaps we could bake a cake or something, seriously though its a good idea. Don't know where I'd be without my beta :D...

Naturally (in responce to the quote) being English and all UK anything is naturally better ;)

You've Been Discovered

White Wave clued me in to the activity here. I don't subscribe to posts as I'm generally too busy to follow up. And, in fact, too busy to figure out how to. Not a literate type.

I'm glad you're having fun with this. But the sentiment was sincere when it was posted. Of course, my father (bless his dear departed soul) said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. A wise man!

Okay, so it's knee-slapping funny!

Don't misunderstand, I love and respect you all, and thanks for all you've done to help me help others. Still making amends to Roz, who I unintentiolly shunned. Sorry!

As an editorial aside:

The adjective "weird" can never be applied as a predicate in the first person.

It goes:

I am normal, you are unusual, (s)he is weird.
We are sensible, you are incomprehensible, they are a bunch of loonies.

We who are the weird have powers far beyond those who are normal.

Glad You Found This Mud Puddle To Splash In...

You all are SO welcome. I've met so many terrific (acceptably odd) people here! We're all odd in our own way.

Hell, editors ARE insane, or are driven to the border and walk across.

I'm just pig-shit happy more than one post was registered.

Do you only take good ones or do you like to help others too? I could do with another helper. Have already passed a couple to AS who does wonders with his good advice.

Congratulations on your Earth Day Contest winner, "Earthed - Australian Style"

Writing some that great was (Minor editing needed :) )
