of the bullshit going on in this forum.

Are we poets? Please, tell me?

Are we here to learn or to just fucking bitch about what he said what she said, or why we aren't the best poetsy woetsy in the fucking world?

Jesus fucking christ, grow the fuck up! Get some fucking skin that's thicker than parchment and suck it up.

All the sniveling and whining has pissed me the fuck off and I don't want to hear it anymore.

You have a job here. Write, critique and enjoy it. If you don't want to do these things...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!

that's all,

perks

and if you think I'm gonna care if you flame me or vote my shit down....I don't fucking care. I come to write and to learn. THATS what you should be caring about.

Oh poop,

You're are neither sick nor tired
You are spending too much time reading and submitting to forums
I have a theory about the curse of forums.
Don't overexert yourself.

Fine... goodbye.. adios... hasta la vista bay-be

i'm so fuckin tired of this bullshit... you guys make me dread coming to Lit.

I'm tired too. I'm going to try to zip my lip and be quiet. While I don't advocate Never-ending Sweetness and Light, this rash of negativity isn't good either. I'm going to post some positive stuff today.

Perky,
we don't always have to agree, or even care what the others share here, but it is thier opinions, feelings, thoughts, rants - and should be approached with a certain amount of respect. at least *if* these are the people you're looking to - to do their job here. write and critique your work.

I respect people that get things done. I respect people that take a stand. I respect people that DO. I don't respect whining, or passive aggressive behavior.

I don't understand why people who don't want critiques, and don't want to give them, or people that don't want to participate in contests or discussion of poetry even come to this forum or thread. I'm not talking about LIT, I'm talking about the Poetry section.

If you don't structure, if you don't like contests, if you don't like critiques, if you don't like discussions, why the hell would you come to this thread?

It's simple logic.

I've fought whole heartedly for everyone to have their voice, much to my consternation. I'm tired of straddling the fence in hopes that people will just get along. People don't want to get along.

So, if I'm going to waste my time, and breath, I'm going to state my viewpoints as bitingly and as clearly as I fucking want to. I'm done with stroking everybodies ego.

still pissed off perks

sorry sistah,

I guess it's been simmering for awhile, and I'm touchy. I didn't mean to bite you.

I'm just tired of it. It's draining, and it makes me not want to come here. I want to learn and to write, though. And this place has helped me, and when <I don't even know who it is>people say crap about stuff that I want I want to work on, makes me a better writer. I just wanna smack em.

I think I'm more just tired than angry now,

I will keep that in mind, Ms.delicious kitty.;)

*nibble nibble*

Er... a suggestion... perhaps if you wouldn't be fucking this Tired guy while you were sick...?

*ducks*

Okay, okay, it was just a thought.

I'm with you, even though I am the most negative person on this entire bulletin board. I'm not really all that nice. Anyway, enough about me. I can't stand whining and snivelling. Particularly when the only thing people here are offering are their opinions.

The weight these opinions carry is entirely decided upon by the person who reads these opinions. I think that if UP actually ripped into one of my poems like he meant it, I would bluster at length, then hit the link to the artist webpage I visit rather than the submit button. Then I'd get on with life and work my way through the criticism.

I have been told by people in the profession that I am a joy to edit. I still haven't figured out why. I'm not a joyful person.

Anyway.

The assumption that I'm seeing from a few of our regulars here is that if criticism is negative then it should be couched in such a way that the poet isn't going to feel bad about his or herself. That makes a critic apologetic and ruins his or her credibility with the impression of self-doubt.

Opinions are like assholes. :)

Hey, perk, was Tired any good? I'm not sick but I could use a good fucking.

Re: Re: Re: I am sick and fucking tired...

I like perky's new avatar too... I just don't understand why she's willing to settle for just two cocks? I mean, if you're gonna get gangbanged, then REALLY get gangbanged... you know?

Just one point I want to address. Not everyone is here for contests, critiques, discussions.... etc. See my most recent post on the #1 thread. Some people were dragged here. They didn't ask for their poems to be discussed... So, once you dragged them here, then be prepared for whatever they choose to throw back at you. Take it, leave it, rip it, ignore it... but expect it.

See Dillydarling, the problem is that you posted your stuff publicly. Therefore you opened your stuff to criticism of any sort that another person wants to attach to it. From "Wow it's great!" to "You suck!" and everything in between.

If you don't want your stuff criticized, then don't post it.

We're just lucky that there are people here who are willing to do real critiques, not just "Wow you're great!" or "You suck!"

Most of us aren't willing to put in that kind of effort to an unappreciative writer. I'd certainly never waste my time on you. Some of us, though, care enough about the craft and enough about the others who would learn something about it from the efforts of others that they will put in that kind of effort and damn the writer.

If you don't want your stuff brought to critical light, simply ask that it not be critiqued. There are very few people out there who would ignore an assertive request. Whining, screaming, throwing temper tantrums, and carrying on as if you're the best there is and damned everyone else for not liking you is just bad behavior and gets no-one anywhere.

What compounds it is that there are people who ask for this critical light and then don't like what they get and throw tantrums.

You're criticizing someone's right to criticize your critique?

(an Perk, we all knew you were sick if you're tired use the bed for sleeping for a change)

*runs like hell

That is rather obtuse of me, isn't it. This is criticism week for me, I suppose. I'm actually going to hang up my critique hat. Maybe run it through the paper shredder. I'm not any good at it in the first place and not many people want much to do with it in the second place.

Nope - I didn't say I not open to criticism... you didn't read my post very thoroughly... I'm just trying to put it in perspective.... If someone wants to critique my work, at least tell me you're doing so... but hell, you don't have to... go do it anyway. But since its easy enough to drop a PM, why wouldn't you?

You prove my point - you didn't read my post very well. I was never given a choice about my work being brought to critical light. If anyone had asked, I'd have said yes. But the fact of the matter is that no one asked... therefore I didn't have the option of "simply asking that it not be critiqued." In my case I have no problem with it. But there are others who do.

Go read my post on the #1 thread about it... http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=1143926#post1143926

I keep waiting for someone to say ANYTHING about what I write, but unless you are in the top five, FORGET it. I have even posted the link to my page and nothing. I want to learn, but no one wants to teach me anything. I have been to college and know comp.................give me something more.

Sorry, Mayi

But didn't you write a poem with pleasure u and were upset by the critique?

New poems are reviewed. There is more than the #1 thread that talks about poems. If you're interested in learning, there are more threads in this forum that talk about poetry, more than the average poetry site on the net. On a lot of boards there's simply one post after another with only a poem in it waiting for responses. That's how most boards operate.

Here, we discuss the art of poetry and we examine individual poems as well. If you have a specific work you want addressed, simply post a link and a request in the forum.

Folks here support each other. Support other poets by commenting to their work, and they'll likely return the favor. If you participated on the forum, Folks would recognize you. I don't know one poet in this forum who is not willing to support a poet who is interested in honest feedback. We're more than willing to share what knowledge we have.

The best way to get is to give. Welcome to the forum.

Peace,

daughter

daughter,

No, I did not write the poem with P that was riped to shreads. I have asked the MY work be reviewed, but for that to happen SOMEONE must read it first.

BUT I GUESS I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ALL OF YOU.

mayi:rose:

Mayi

Was I unclear in some way? Folks will read your work. Are you reading any of ours and commenting to us? Are we good enough for you. I have 24 poems. You haven't signed your name to any comments to me.

There is no link here nor in your profile. I know because I went there.

How do you propose this thing work? Do you know how many poems all us have here that never get commented on or receive one or two replies? There is nothing out of the ordinary happening to you. The sites has over 3000 poems. You have 5? Is it possible the day they hit the list they were overlooked(average day 50 poems hit the list)?

I suggested you post a single thread for feedback with a link. You haven't.

Here, we discuss the art of poetry and we examine individual poems as well. If you have a specific work you want addressed, simply post a link and a request in the forum.

Peace,

daughter
