A Desert Rose said:Okay, I'll meet you there, dolly! Looks like fun.
MastrJ said:That's my weekend off from work, so maybe I'll be able to get down there for a day or two. Naperville is only a couple of hours away from me if I remember correctly.
cellis said:Have you ever been before?
cellis said:I would really like to attend this conference....
Luna_Wolf72 said:I saw the thread title and thought you were coming to see ME!!!![]()
MastrJ said:Nope, this would be my first year. I just did a route map and Naperville is a little farther than I had remembered. It'll take me about two and half hours to get down there. Still close enough for an all day trip if I can't afford to get a room for a night.
wow, a 21 hour trip, that's pretty impressive AS, I've never travelled for anywhere near the long in my life. Then again, I'm a shut-in lol, so I guess that statement isn't going to be surprising anyone.arctic-stranger said:sigh... you people in the smaller 48...to see my amoureuse, i am flying twelve hours, then driving nine hours....
It is not unusual for us to drive 365 miles, go fishing for day, and drive 365 miles home...
ah the joys of living in the wilds....

cellis said:I live in SE Texas... I don't have to drive quite that far to get the ocean, but it is still over 70 miles to Galveston....
arctic-stranger said:I can drive 70 miles and not see a town!
But on a different note, have many of you been to conferences? How helpful are they? If you have attended one, what was the best part of it for you?
Given the large commitment it would take for me to attend one, would it be worth my time?

Do they change thier site every year or is it always in Il?
Sir_Winston54 said:(interestingly, the 2002 Bash was not in Orlando, but somewhere on the east coast of Florida, though at the moment, I can't remember where).
Would it be worth it? If it's of the quality of the Orlando Bash, I would answer with a resounding "Yes!"
LadyNatasha said:That would have been in Melbourne, just south of where I live.
This year's will be well worth it also, you should check it out!
Sir_Winston54 said:In 2001/2, when I went, I lived in Tampa, so it was only a matter of 2-3 1/2 hours driving time. Now I live in E. Tennessee, and it would be a major drive - about 9-10 hours each way - and the expense would be substantially higher, and on the separation/divorce budget I'm on now, will unfortunately be out of the question, unless I win the lotteryI'd really rather attend one a bit closer now, though I did have a lot of fun there both years.
