Well, I'm (technically, at least) a virgin, and my nick says experienced ;)

<Sigh> So many wiseasses here...

When you get to thirty posts, you'll become "Experienced."
At 100, "Really Experienced," and you can add an avatar (that's the little pictures most of us have)
At 300, "Really, Really Experienced."
At 500, "Literotica Guru."
At 1000, you can pick your own title.

Sorry for the sophomoric humor some of our members subjected you to.

When I first came here, someone was either kind enough to explain this to me, or to point me to this information.

i've often wondered: do the site operators realize that by implementing those breakpoints, they cause people to become postcount whores? is that actually desirable on a site this active?

Good point.

Post too often and you aren't serious.
Post too slow and remain a newbie and you aren't serious.
Sigh.

still a virgin here but more of a lurker in then a poster you guys are a wonder vault of information and entertainment

:p Post count whores, attention whores...what about post count gigalos? lol all is fair right? giggles. :) :p

Like Sir Winston said, the more you post the quicker you get to the "rank" -- you can always post on boards like the word association -- that will get your post count up quick if that is what you desire.

see, here's the thing: all the posts are stored as records in a database. at this point, there's 12,350,101 records in that database (probably not counting deleted records). if people could create their own avatars from postcount 100 or something, do you think that there would be even half as many? new hard drives do cost money, so i'm sure they know this. but i do find it peculiar.

Thanks for the help!

Well, I like Marquis advice! Certainnly sounds like the most fun. I really appreciate Sir Winston's explanation, most helpful and considerate. If it weren't for the wiseasses it wouldn't be much fun and then what would the point be? Unless of course you were eating pizza.... lol.

Ok, cheap way to increase your count without really irritating people by become a post whore;

Go do word association. One word posts, and generally people post quickly on there. I dont do it much any more, because i lost my drive to be a post whore, but that is how i got my avatar.

The reason you implement a limit like that ... expecially on a sexual forum ... you run the risk of someone joining, posting some posts, and setting an EXTREMELY offensive avatar.

If you've taken the time to post 100 things, most likely you're *not* a troll.

Yes, I hate it, because I want an avi, but that'll come in time.

(btw: do I fit pleasantly in the middle, post-wise? LOL)

arctic-stranger: i'm familiar w/ word association threads, but thanks. oddly enough, another forum i frequent has banned such threads outright.

jason: good explanation. i suppose that's reasonable. i think it's excessive, but hey, i'm not the one making the calls. :>

Some days I think I'm the only person in all of Literotica who wasn't bothered, annoyed, or otherwise upset by having the title "virgin" for a while.

I really don't even notice someone's title thingie. I pay far more attention to what they have to say. *shrug*

ETA- stalkity stalk A_S ;)
Lol, I wasn't upset, in fact one of the titles I considered for my custom was going back to Virgin, because it's true lol.

Or fucking posting.

or posting fucking.

posting fucking (photos, sounds, stories, videos, etc) on this forum will make you friends real quick.

Expecially if it involves rope, leather, steel, or pain

Nah, doggystyle your partner with a laptop on her back. Punctuate your sentences with a cervix tapper. That should make things interesting for everyone involved. ;)

Well I say, most people only get to be a virgin once, so enjoy it while you can.

We never do that enough, now do we?

Long ago, I remember seeing an obscure thread where someone posted thirty times (he used 1,2,3,4, etc.) until he was no longer a virgin. I'd consider that fucking the posting system. And, he must have REALLY hated that virgin thing.

Now, there are time restrictions so you can't post too quickly, but you could still do that. Also, with a content like that, the thread would quickly fade into the past. And, you'd no longer have the scarlet V around your neck.

It didn't bother me either. I thought it was funny.
