Don't worry, we were all new at some point. My advice to you is just start posting on some threads (like I'm doing on your thread)
The Playground is a good place for you to make friends, try some of the games there like "word association", "odd numbers" and "even numbers". This site has many different topics, find one you like and post a reply, it's easy. goblin_man is right, most people are nice here so just start posting and have fun
