I have been thinking to my self lately instead of drinking beer all the time I should switch to wine. What is a good wine, yet econmically feasible for a college student?

Mad Dog 20/20.

Urbanesque taste with a resealable cap. Good with beef jerky and twizzlers.

Cheap rotgut liquor has nothing to do with the ghetto or "something". Buy your alcohol in bulk, instead of a pint get a 1/2 gallon. get rid of beer if you're looking for an economical BAC. Wine to get drunk off of consisently isn't a smart choice either Nancy Boy. PM ppman and he'll give you all kinds of drinking tips and how not to drown in your own "loo"

Just make your own distillery...make some potent alcohol. Nix the weak shit.

Do you have a World Market near you? They have great sales on wine, with featured wines for 5 to 6 dollars a bottle. Buy a case (12 bottles) and get a 10% discount. A warning about wine, though - cheap wine results in a much worse hangover than beer, at least in my experience.

My suggestion is Ketel One martinis, up, dry, two olives.

Just don't have more than two college boy. ;-)

Now that sounds all good..although I'd use a Gin, but hey each to there own.

WHAT EVER YOU DO. NO WINE OUT OF A BOX!! Those stupid ones with the plastic bag and the wine in it and a tap...ouch..just bad news man..

Boone's. Seven million Kid Rock fans can't be wrong.

Though I'd much prefer drinking with Pezzie. Her drinks are expensive, but colorful. :p

If you are in the USA, come to the UK and try real beer; believe me it's infinitely better than what passes itself off as beer in the USA.

If you switch to wine, drink only good wine. It is better to have one glass of Baronne Phillipe Paulliac 1982 than a whole case of Chateau Plonk. You won't get a hangover and the flavours will last in your memory for years.

If you just want to get drunk, industrial alcohol is quicker and cheaper.

(I speak from 45 years of drinking, and yes, I did have some of the Paulliac '82 two years ago. It was unbelievably good, but it does fetch $750 a bottle at auction these days.)

It's all about Martini bars for me these days....

But ya, never ever skimp out on the wine...if you're going to go cheap..drink a Colt 45!

Personal opinion.............
I can't drink beer, so on my cheapie nights there's been a few cheaper wines I like.
First off.... the boxed wines aren't *that* bad...... if you want to go for really cheap and easy to get a good buzz.
Second... I really prefer Ernest Gallo's (spelling might be wrong on this) .... White Zinfindel. Yum!.....

Give up beer? That is quite possibly the sickest thing I have ever heard in my life.
