I always thought New Hampshire was quite a sensible place.

Intelligence is not a prerequisite for holding office at any level of government.

New Hampshire's legislature has about 400 people, for an incredibly small state. When you have that low a rep-voter ratio, it's easy to get nutjobs.

After the second suspect was caught, my wife and I were talking about it, and I said, "I could put money on it right now that somebody is going to say the whole thing was a government inside job/conspiracy/false flag op/etc.."

And sure enough...

Turns out I was wrong. How the fuck did this retard get elected?

Seriously? I would have expected this from one or more of the 'I hate everything' groups out there in La La Land, but this is just asinine.

MAKHACHKALA, Russia — The mother of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects insisted Thursday that her sons are not responsible for the attack and said she did not see any aggression in the older brother, even when the FBI questioned him two years ago.

Speaking to reporters in Russia, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva also said the elder son, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, came to Russia for six months last year to attend a family wedding, visit relatives and later renew his Kyrgyzstan passport.

“America took my kids away from me,” she said. “I’m sure my kids were not involved in anything.”

Are you trying to make some kind of point?

Over the past decade there's been a big movement to have libertarians relocate to NH and take over state government. They're planning on creating an Objectivist bastion there to make a last stand against statism and big government.

Perhaps you could get some kind of gigantic band saw device, saw off NH and push it out into the Atlantic.

US State Republican Stella Tremblay of New Hampshire has accused the American government of being responsible for the Boston bombings, labeling the attack as a black op.

Posting on the Facebook page of radio host Glenn Beck on Friday, she wrote:

Just as you said would happen. Top Down, Bottom UP. The Boston Marathon was a Black Ops “terrorist” attack. One suspect killed, the other one will be too before they even have a chance to speak. Drones and now “terrorist” attacks by our own Government. Sad day, but a “wake up” to all of us. First there was a “suspect” then there wasnt (sic). Infowars broke the story and they knew they had been “found out.”

Infowars.

We have a Congresscritter who reads Infowars.

Worse, we have a Congresscritter who believes Infowars.

Even worse, we have a Congresscritter who cites Infowars.

Even Beck should be embarrassed by this.

Only a sucker would have taken that bet. Because it did not take even that long.

Reactions

Within hours, and without any evidence (sound familiar?), speculation about motives and responsibility started appearing on the internet.

* Fox News and surrogate New York Post reported that a 20 year-old Saudi man was a suspect, but this turned out to be fictional.[1] The New York Post also reported significantly inflated deaths/casualties, conceivably from thin air.[2]

* Fox News/World Net Daily contributor Erik Rush blamed Muslims, suggesting that they should all die for this.[3] (To put things into perspective, that's over 1.5 billion people, so 75 times the scale of the Holocaust. Brilliant!)

* A "report" that CNN's Wolf Blitzer blamed the Tea Party or other tax protestors made the rounds on Twitter.[4] The report turned out to be completely bullshit.[5]

* The Westboro Baptist Church reacted predictably, blaming the gays and Massachusetts (being the first state in the United States to legalize same sex marriage).[6]

* The religiously brainwashed made their opinions made known on Twitter, blaming atheists and godlessness.[7]

* NBC's Luke Russert made the connection to the Waco, Texas events of 1993,[8] an idea which was only taken seriously by wingnut pundits as an attempt to paint liberals as liars and thugs.[9]

* Jordanian Al-Qaeda head Mohammad al-Chalabi also reacted predictably, praising the attack.[10]

* Alex Jones, as usual, asserted on Infowars that the attack was a false flag operation.[11][12]

* Various other conspiracy theorists concurred with Jones. A recurring piece of "evidence" was an episode of Family Guy from the previous month, in which the character Peter Griffin kills several Boston Marathon runners by driving a car over them; some claimed this was predictive programming. Apparently the programming wasn't predictive enough for certain conspiracy theorists: a doctored video was posted on YouTube combining this sequence with an unrelated scene elsewhere in the episode, showing Peter causing several explosions.[13]

* The Australian tabloid media has stated that controversial Muslim cleric Sheik Feiz Muhammad was likely a figure of influence[14]. Their evidence? A YouTube playlist which went under the name of one of the accused that featured videos of the sheik ranting about his usual nonsense.

Some conspiracy theorists inevitably linked the attack with the West, Texas explosion which happened two days later.

On Friday 19 April, two brothers--born in Chechnya but naturalised American citizens since childhood--led police through a prolonged confrontation which ended in the death of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer and the entire city of Boston put into lockdown. One brother was killed, the other was captured by police.

Why do you give a flying fuck about their domestic politics? Its none of your business you fucking racist retard. Like we don't have enough issues here or in Europe without worrying about theirs. Go and wank over your latest raghead or class warrior hero.

It's called an interest in world events. I know sad little Englanders like you don't care about anything other than what the Daily Mail tells you to think, but others have somewhat broader horizons.

And how am I a racist? It's you using the "raghead" epithet. I suppose they don't teach irony at your Hitler Youth meetings.

now then, sean, quit petting the fish will ya?

in case you missed it:

We should make "petting the fish" a popular euphemism. Not for masturbation, though. It's too obvious. A euphemism for...something.

for the nice posts to the stupid alts?

i.e 'don't pet the fish, it'll only encourage it' or 'oh, don't mind *insertusername*, he's just petting the fish'

"Quit petting the fish!" = "Quit feeding the troll!"

That could work.

"Yeah, she's a fish-petter."

"He can't keep his hand off the damn fish."

etc.
