I almost won...

Getting married at 40 has it's advantages. I tried it in my 20's, again in my 30's, then in my 40's. The sex was better in the first and last but the love was better in the middle. Maybe I have that backwards in the middle and that explains the lack of kids.

Happy Happy there Boota....

Congrats Boota!

I know marriage is a tricky thing, and supposedly there are people who still enjoy it. My brother and his wife are still going strong after 20 something years.

Here's hoping you make it work.

Instant grandkids!! At least you won't have your parents demanding you have babies right away!!! Congrats!!!!

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about it. It's been a long time coming. We were almost married when I was 22, but things happened and we went our separate ways. She became a wife and mother, I became a criminal/thug/monster. About five years ago she contacted me and we started talking. A little over three years ago we got together officially, although her divorce was still pending. It's all settled now and we're moving ahead. I've been living with her and the kids since March.

I have a good relationship with the kids. I coached them all in baseball for a few years before Lisa and I got together. I will soon have a 13 year-old son, two eleven year-old daughters, and a nine year-old son. TJ, Emily, Elizabeth, and Nicholas (aka Mojo). Great kids. Hilarious. And they're even funny on purpose. The best part is they LOVE my band. If we change the CD in the car or the van they demand that we put Fetish back in. That rocks.

Og, I think the fish died from overfeeding. They apparently got fat and sank to the bottom of the tank. I don't know.

Doc, we were going to get married on Halloween, our favorite holiday, but a couple years ago Lisa performed a ceremony for some former friends and in her mind they now own Halloween for weddings. This works out okay, though. We won't interfere with the kids holiday.

Lisa is awesome. She's a creative person, too, so she understands the drive. She is the biggest supporter I've ever had for my music and writing. She has kept me going at times when I was going to quit the band. Now that things are looking like they're going to pay off I'm going to owe her BIG time.

She's also a writer. Mostly poetry that she rarely shows anyone. It's very good, but too personal for her to feel comfortable sharing it with anyone except me, for the most part. She has written a couple short children's books that I'm going to help her get published, and she's working on a novel that I'm kind of guiding her through. As you might imagine, 4 kids take up a lot of writing time. For her and for me.

3113, if you kidnap me, just have me back by the 25th. I've been waiting a long time for this. :)

Thanks cloudy.

I tell her she's a lucky woman all the time and she seems to think I'm being an arrogant dick. Oh well. She's probably right. :)

Congrats guy.

All I can say is the naysayers not withstanding, have a blast. My wife and I have been together for sixteen years now and we're having more fun than we did in the beginning. Just don't let either of you get set in your ways. That leads to boredom which leads to trouble.

Cat

Thanks Seacat.

I hope to never get too set in my ways. My life seems to be an engine of chaos and that keeps things interesting.

Is this the lazy man's way to create a family?

Oh, and I sincerely hope it's not the happiest day of your life.
