Sometimes there's just no connection, I've had guys message me and honestly said nothing wrong and did everything right, asked me about myself, took interest in me, were light and funny......but it just didn't catch my attention, not their fault.

That and if you reply to something without another question there's just no reason to reply sometimes, happens lots I find....hell I do it, lol

So, I’ve tried being the gentleman that I am on here, yet a few sentences into meeting most women they just go silent. Is being respectful not what people want anymore? Am I better off just taking care of me and not worry about anything else? I just don’t understand....maybe I am just looking at this the wrong way. So ladies, what are you really looking for?

Here is what you need to do. First change your expectations. Don't come here thinking that you will find a woman to exchange pms with. If you send a pm, don't expect them to write back. If they don't then drop it and move on. Second, don't send unsolicited pms. Do get to know people on the threads. Be yourself, be fun, be flirty but keep it on the boards. Third give yourself time. You have to have enough time on Lit to be able to meet people and show that you are friendly and safe. Banter is your friend but it takes time. Fourth, Literotica is not really a great place for guys to meet gals. The ratio of guys to girls is about 20 to one and a lot of the gals are not here to exchange pms with you. You probably won't meet anyone that you click with. I believe that you will have more fun and meet more people if you stick to the threads and enjoy yourself. If you spend enough time on the boards then you will learn what people you have things in common with. If you have a strong common interest then you might send a pm talking about that interest. If they write back then you can write them back again. If they stop writing then don't bug them. Just wait. If they never write back then move on but continue to have fun on the threads. Humor is your best option.
