It's been around for a little while but not released. Supposed to be last year sometime but I guess they pushed it back. Looks sorta stupid to me. A teenage sex comedy dressed up in period costume.

You're probably a little bit right. Certainly there are many ways this issue (negligent mental health care and a sexist all-inclusive diagnosis in the Victorian era) could have been addressed in the film, but they seem to have chosen a more lighthearted, fun approach, focusing more on the invention of the vibrator. Hey, sometimes the ends justify the means! (I'm mostly just kidding!) Still, I think it looks like fun, and I can't wait to see it!
