While decisions like this are made by many healthcare systems, I haven't heard of any stories about it happening in the US yet. Would like to see a source rather than an image with big letters.

incidentally, doctors and hospitals have been making calls like this for probably as long as it has been possible to, and hospice care is often considered the most ethical choice for patients whose likely result from further procedures would be even more pain without the trade-off of more time. Of course, it does seem a bit more sinister to have unaccountable bureaucrats making these calls, and there have indeed been horror stories where mistakes have been made, but in the end, there will always be people who make decisions to discontinue certain kinds of care or not to perform certain procedures that may prolong life. Best thing we can do is to ensure that those decisions are made for ethical reasons with full knowledge of the patient or responsible decision maker on the patient's behalf whenever plausible and that the best possible, rather than least expensive care is incentivized.
