And the drip of damning news has only continued: a former business partner “co-operating completely” with the feds; congressional allegations that the Secret Service improperly redacted records relating to Hunter’s travels; news that Hunter’s bank records on his dealings with the Bank of China were subpoenaed in May 2019.

That is, the feds have been looking at Hunter since the Obama administration. Given all this, Biden should have put the probe under impartial supervision long ago. In between, Justice has managed to fully investigate, for example, everything about then-President Donald Trump’s supposed collusion with Russia — albeit via a special counsel.

And: Can you imagine the howls of outrage if Trump had inherited an investigation of Eric or Don Jr. in his first term and left it in the hands of a Justice Department staffed by his own appointees?

Unless and until Garland produces an explanation for why he’s avoided an independent prosecutor, or his minions actually bring charges, Americans have every reason to suspect politics is standing in the way of justice.

I think Garland knows he's on weak ground. He said under oath that Durham's investigation had a funded budget and would go forward. He made these remarks to Sen, Blackburn:

"Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., asked whether the report from special counsel John Durham, who is investigating the origins of various probes of Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, would be made public.

“His budget has been approved, as I have already announced,” Garland said, “and with respect to the report, I would like as much as possible to be made public. I have to be concerned about Privacy Act concerns and declassification. But other than that, our commitment is to provide a public report, yes.”

Blackburn followed up by asking: “Can you guarantee this committee that Special Counsel Durham has free rein to proceed wherever his investigation takes him, without any political or otherwise undue influence or interference?”

The attorney general answered succinctly.

“There will be no political or undue interference,” he said.

I'm hoping for a different Rep majority this fall. I think even moderate pubs have been shocked by the lawlessness of the Biden junta. There are several new conservatives running this year that could help move us forward. The real problem, the deep state, will have to be addressed by the next President. A new Congress can put a lot of pressure on the Biden administration and hold its appointees and their budgets to account. Did you notice that Biden fired every single Trump-appointed US Attorney? The next President needs to play that card to the max throughout the bureaucracy. Trump and or DeSantis can get this job done.
