LOS ANGELES — Hunter Biden pleaded guilty Thursday to all the charges in the federal tax case against him, a surprise move that avoids a potentially embarrassing trial for President Joe Biden's son.

The sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16.

Despite him saying he won't, this will let Joe pardon him for both offenses at the same time. Had Joe not dropped out, Hunter would have stayed the course receiving first a pardon for the gun convictions and later a second pardon for this tax evasion case.

Since Joe dropped out, he's not going to be President when Hunter's tax case goes to trial and that means no later pardon.

Expect the pardons sometime after the election. Sooner if Trump wins.

He is STILL saying he won't pardon him.

He's not running.

If he does, then I'll be wrong and he will have lied.

But saying he will when he has said he won't is what is occuring. I'm pointing that out.

And I'll just add ...the right has been saying he would pardon him even when it was the other trial. I can see how circumstances have changed and I would even expect him to reconsider that decision.....but the White House has said it's still no.

That's what a White House staff would do prior to an election involving his sitting VP.

But it's his son, and he will no longer be stuck in the jaws of the high stakes political world.

He is a compassionate man-- I predict he will pardon his son.

“After watching prosecutors who exploit his family’s grief during the Delaware trial and realizing they were planning to do it again in California, Hunter decided to enter his plea to protect those he loves from unnecessary hurt and cruel humiliation,” Lowell [Hunter's lawyer] said. “This plea prevents that kind of show trial that would have not provided all the facts or served any real point in justice.”

Somewhere in the Judge's sentencing, he will factor in the $2 million or so that Hunter paid in back taxes and penalties several years ago when he sobered up. This should account for something toward the fact that he pleaded guilty on all nine counts. I expect more fines and probation. Most people in his situation get those kinds of punishments. The IRS rarely sends people to prison unless it is an egregious situation, notwithstanding the despicable acts he engaged in surrounding the matter.

Joe Biden promised not to pardon Hunter. I believe Joe Biden is a man of integrity. He will rely on the judgment and, come what may, accept the judicial decision.

I think most of the world understands that there's only 1 scenario where Joe doesn't pardon Hunter. And that's if Joe gets 25th'd before he signs the pardon paperwork. Which is a real possibility given the extreme state of Joe's mental decline in the last 60 days.

Other than that, the odds are strongly on the side of a pardon.
