I’d like to start my first post with a well-deserved ovation for both the creators of this site and for those who keep the juices flowing. Most often, the issues that are brought up on the BB seem to be addressed with a certain degree of professionalism that I rarely see in this kind of subject matter. It’s nice to be in the same room with other adults instead of gigglers and gossiping snipers. (Not to say that some issues aren’t met with a large dose of passion. I like passion.)
Since I’m new to the site, I’d like to offer my qualifications before stating my opinions all over the board. (Yes, I’m an opinionated SOB -- at least, that’s what I’ve been told.) Please read the two stories I’ve put up for public slaughter. (A Study in Love -- Romance & Goddess of Winter -- NonHuman) A person’s writing tells a lot more than a list of credits. And yes, this is a pathetic attempt for some kind of detailed criticism of my work, completely transparent.
But I do promise to give as well as receive if my opinion is felt to be worthy of consideration. Oh, I’m so damned humble, someone slap me. It isn’t like me at all, but I’ve found that most of the people here are worthy of respect, so I’m attempting to keep from alienating anyone right off the bat.
All I ask is that anyone who answers please be gentle, but not kind. Gentle cruelty. That just might be the name of the next one. Chuckle. I can take a lot of insults, but only if they’re meant to be informative. So, tear me apart and I’ll take on the responsibility of putting me back together again. I’ve done it before and I’ll keep doing it.
So, with those words of determination, I’ll sit back and wait for the amazing response that seems to be the norm around here. Thanks in advance.
Mick

I liked Goddess of Winter a lot. Someone should read it and give a critique.
