Some of you have noticed that she's not around much anymore. Her new job (while it is something she loves) has some atrocious hours and her ex has this lovely habit of finding himself too busy to take care of their kids, leaving her to do everything. It's been ratcheting up for weeks, with personal details I'm not sure I should share, but her stress level has been rising. Today she called me in tears, letting me know her ex (henceforth to be known as "Too fucking ignorant for words") quit his job, leaving her kids without insurance (and we're sure he'll be claiming an inability to pay child support immediately).

Here is a very big hug for the most wonderful, patient, kind, loving mother I know. I love you baby, and I'm always here for you.

Everyone please feel free to add in thoughts or prayers (even the occasional inappropriate grope). If anyone knows a good family law attorney in Florida . . .

Thanks folks, she was so beat she tried going to bed (although I'm not holding out hope for much sleep), but appreciates the good wishes . . . she'll be stopping by tomorrow. I agree. I have serious problems with my ex, but we both love our daughter, and are trying to do what we think is in her best interest. I can live with not being totally happy, as long as she is taken care of. I just don't understand how some other parents don't feel the same.
