HTML in new control panel

I just used the new control panel to submit a story. It was clean, I would say a slightly more pleasant process that the legacy version, particularly from my mobile.

One thing I observed in preview was that HTML wasn't rendered. I have some italics and only the and were shown, not what should be the result of it.

When the story is approved, will this be rendered properly?

Should have read:
" I have some italics and only the [ I ] and [ / I ]were shown, not what should be the result of it."

i know [] only from a forum in the BBcode, HTML is long as I know <>

And indeed, < > it is. Checked some old submissions and there they were.
