The soon-to-be-former (not running for re-election)Governor of Vermont has been polling and presing the flesh to see if he could mount a campaign in 2004 fo US President.

Hes a Democrat, a former Doctor, and has been a very good Governor.

Its unclear if he will have any momentum to generate donations and enter the pool of potential Democratic candidates. The Democratic party has a huge leadership void and in that atmosphere a relative unknown may do well.

I have voted for Dean for Governor but would have to see how his policies were outlined ona national stage to decide if he had a chance at my vote.

Is anyone familiar with him?

How do you feel about a Governor from a small state running?

But then again...Louisiana looks like a shoe...and we all know how much women like shoes.

Ok....so someone from VT as president, and his running mate should be from NH.

That sounds like a winner!

I think our strategy will be the one to win the election.

Our strategy wouldn't do any worse than what they will probably choose.

2004

9-11 clearly showed us that recess is over. Things have gotten serious and we have no time for liberal silliness. That is why Bush is the man for 2004.

LOL if you say so.

And oh by the way, Santa Claus isn't real.

An odd sensation sweeps over you when your thread becomes the home for exchanges between carrot top and pam grier.

I'm not familiar with his platform on issues.

I guess, it will depend on how well his political machine gets his message out.

Can you give us a preview, Mr Mouse?

Maybe I've heard the name before, but I'm certainly not familiar with him.

That's what they said about Jimmy Carter at the time, & Bill Clinton.

Personally, I think governors lack foreign policy experience. That's true of Republicans like Reagan & George W., as well.

For better & worse, it seems to me that the leadership skills of a governor win more elections than the broad & deep experience and management skills of a George The Elder.

Have not hear of him so don't know anything about him.

What did he do before he was Governor?

We would have been better off without Carter and Clinton. Reagan, by refusing to appease the Soviets and the peaceniks, helped tear down the Berlin wall.

So now Susan Estrich is pushing for this guy to chair the DNC because of his "grass-roots" ability to raise money from the small donors.

These people learned not one damned thing from the Ross Perot episode...

GO DEAN GO!!!

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he's a lock!

But, like Ross Perot, people are unwilling to back a loser who's come unhinged once the second time 'round, but they are more than welcome to try.

For me it's like waiting for that spectacular car crash if I'm forced to watch NASCAR...

Change in the Democratic Party is necessary. Howard Dean's organization, Democracy for America falls right in with what I'm looking for and his plans for the Democratic Party seem, on the surface, to be just what it needs: a dedication to supporting fiscally responsible, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government.

I certainly won't let a little enthusiasm get in the way of what I believe and I also won't let a spin on his "scream" get in the way either.

He has a vision on how to get there. That's more than the DNC has had and I will enjoy watching and participating in his work.
