How to unfollow an author?

I can't seem to find how to unfollow an author, either the option is just hard to find or I'm just being dumb. Going to "edit favorites" only lets you edit your favorite stories, and when you go to the list of people you follow, there is no option to edit. Help!

I'll pass on taking a gander at which one you are...so, on your profile page, there should be a grey/black bar on the left side. Third from the end is "following". Click on that to see who you are following. Each name has a green checkmark next to the name. Click the green check mark to unfollow.

To unfavorite a story, click on "favorites" and click the box and then remove selected .

I'm having the same issue, I try to follow your instructions but there are no green check boxes in this new control panel (see attached screenshot). Any advice on how to edit this list now? Seems completely impossible to unfollow right now, unless there's a way to get the old panel back.

It's the checkmark right next to the author's name. It's actually blue until you hover your mouse over it, and then it turns green.
