ok, I did know someone I was in a band with once who could do this. He actually did a few videos for money once. He was exceptionally flexible due to Yoga. I think if you don't want to have the ribs removed, you may have to start going regularly to yoga classes. It's still dangerous, however as you are basically doing something that may create a muscle cramp or dislocation alone and without a spotter.
 
It ain't impossible to do.

I did it when I was a teenager.

I wasn't (and still am not) particularly flexible. But, what I did do was to keep trying; rolling backwards on the bed and trying to stretch. Gradually, after a period of time, I got more flexible and eventually did manage to beyond past the tip. Then I lost interest and quit. Couldn't do it these days anymore.


My opinion; it's not really that interesting other than as a novelty.

It's also not that difficult to do. Unless you're overweight or really inflexible.
