Hello, I hope many of us would agree about the increasing number of abuses by wives and wives parents to husbands. These abuses are mostly emotional in nature. The husbands, especially the innocent ones, are taken for granted by the wives and wives parents (mostly the mother). They have lots of expectations from the husbands, in terms of financial and taking care of the wives families, even when the husbands may not be in a position to do so. The wives mother tend to interfere a lot in the new family of their daughther and her husband. The mothers of their girls have keen interest for knowing (sometimes on a daily basis) about the daily proceedings of the newly wed's family. Because of the interest she tries to dictate her daughter and in turn her husband as to what they should do. Since many of those girls (especially now a days) are mamma's daughters (and this number is increasing), they only tend to listen to their mom, without even thinking of what is good or bad for their new family.
It is a wrong idea to many of us that only the girls are abused by the boys. Although that might be true in many cases, I have a feeling that this number is decreasing with increasing awareness and laws.
However, there has been an increase in the number of cases especially in the cities and big towns where the girls are abusing their husbands emotionally. Because of emotional abuse many husbands become sick mentally, which affects their regular life and work. Many boys get so much depressed that they lose interest in life. As we can see in the other threads, some husbands are betrayed for many reasons, some are falsely charged with the anti-male laws, some are married for convenience, even when the girl has no love.
I wanted to start this discussion group with what other people are feeling who are suffering from similar cases. I would also think that it is high time that we stand to protest against these, make other prospective husbands aware of what is going on with the husbands now a days, so that they don't fall prey to one of these situations.
I would be interested for people to discuss about the different male shelters (for those who are abused) across the world so that they get information and help at the time of need. We should discuss how to stop these cases in the future. What can be done as preventive measures so that these things do not happen to our friends?
