How to set a humane trap

Foxes are pests here, ruthless, thrill-kill decimators of native birds and animals, chooks, anything and everything. They will kill a full chookshed, just for the sake of killing it seems, and are shot on sight or poisoned - they are only slightly worse than cats, who generally eat what they kill, as far a killing off the small animals and birds.

Never heard of one killing a cat though, that is something in their favour I guess.

Um, Folks...Fox do not normally hang around people...at all unless they have Rabies or something.

BE CAREFULL!

Don't let being PC Harm you, call for help!

Would like to remove a fox from under the deck without hurting it. Animal control would most likely kill it. Any suggestions?

Contact your local animal control or your local office of TPWD/game wardens.

Foxes are protected Texas (as another poster pointed out) so any attempt on your part to trap it without a license could result in a fine or possibly a criminal charge.
On the other hand, foxes are both predators and possible sources of rabies, so there is a distinct and implicit need to remove the fox safely.

As a protected species, animal control will be obligated to do their level best to remove the fox without harm. More importantly, they will be far more likely to have both the equipment and experience to do so successfully.

Probably already been answered but call your local Department of Natural Resources and ask them to remove/relocate the fox. If it has been semi domesticated it may have a more difficult time readjusting to the wild. Good luck and let us know how it went.
