How to Restore Your Faith in Humanity: 101

I watch this every single time I get frustrated with my fellow humans.

It helps to restore my faith in people.

Enjoy.

This is so intensely beautiful....

Marina and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again. retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’ as part of the show, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing it and this is what happened.

ETA: it's beautiful, it's haunting, it's a wonderful testament of memory, but it's a bit melancholy and heart-breaking, but not in a bad way. It's an intense, elegant exposure of love... so you've been warned (I teared up at its pure power). I can't explain it better - it's a little sad but it's still so affirming and positive.

I saw this a few years ago at a conference, about leadership.

It was interesting, the talk theme was anyone could be the first guy. Until the first follower jumped in it was just a crazy guy on a hill, the courageous one is the first follower, he started the movement.

The venue is The Gorge, along on the Columbia River in Washington state. I've been to many, many shows / festivals there over the years, and have seen this type of thing happen there quite a bit, up on the lawn. Don't know if it's the sunshine, incredible views, or the beer gardens. We always have fun there and have met some great folks there over the years.

Its a great venue with a great vibe. Thanks for posting this.
