how to regulate the water temp for a bidet

do bidets let people regulate the tempeture of the water in a bidet?
Bidet's come with two knobs, hot and cold or the old ones have only one control and you can buy a temperature control for these units.

Several years ago, we bought an IntelliSeat bidet-type toilet seat. It has different settings for water and seat temperature, plus multiple wash and dry features. We got it while our son had a long bout of toddler diarrhea, but I've been the primary user since that cleared up. It's a pretty cool seat that has provided a lot of value for the $200 we paid.

I've never installed one, but I understand some aspects of the installation. It's a bit like a washing machine. How cold is cold and how hot is warm on a washing machine?

There are shut off valves on a bidet, the same as there are shut off valves on a washing machine. It depends on how much you open the valve on the hot water which determines the warmth of the water.

However, much like a sink, if the sink's faucet hasn't been run recently, you have to run the water for a little while to get all the cold water out of the system.

I'm not sure but I'd think there should be an anti-scald check valve on a bidet like they have automatically on shower valves.

While there are some high market bidets that have electronics and some might even have an "instant hot" like at a kitchen sink, not all bidets work like this and some are the "bare bones" version which is what I have described.

edit: Needless to say, if the bidet only has one shut off valve like a toilet, then you only have cold water going into it.
