How to publish a series?

First of all, hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum.
I would like to know how I can publish a story that is a sequel to another one, and have the previous one mentioned on the bottom right of the page, as I have seen on other authors' stories. Is this done automatically when you publish a story with "part 2" in the title ?

Also, I've noticed a new section dedicated to series. Will my series be automatically added there when I publish it or do I have to ask for it somewhere ?

As far as I remember, you just have to give your second piece the same title as the one it follows - with a Ch.O2 or something similar added. The submission editors will sort out the rest.

If you want to make extra sure, though, why not put a note to the editor in the space provided under the story submission? Something along the lines of: 'This is Part 2 of an ongoing series, entitled ________."

I write mostly standalone stories with the same core characters. Each title of a new story is preceded by the name of the series, as:

The Crew: Cat
The Crew: Poison
The Crew: Vampires Really Do Suck.

I think I'll put the same title as the first story with Ch.02 and change the first story's title to add Ch01 to it, since I want to edit it anyway.

The system here isn't friendly to prequels or sequels (or, I found, to significant expansions--although I eventually got the one through I was trying to post). The title and part number is the most assured to keep them in chronological order (and have them included on the series list).

Bebeslut's way only works if the alpha order of the subtitle follows the desired chrono order, which is hard to pull off. And I don't think they get listed on the series list then.

Apart from the administration part, which is pretty much covered above, you will find that if you take too long between chapters you will get a load of comments about where the hell is the next one?

I made a mistake in starting a 13 part series and then stopping half way through.

Man - did I get some shit about that!
