I can usually do this without a problem.

I can't get the cursor to "grab" the very top so i can pull the task bar back down to the bottom of my desktop. it's on the side of the screen right now.

Can i reset the puter to go back without losing everything?

I'm running Windows 98.

Thanks.

You should be able to grab the taskbar pretty much anywhere on the bar, no need to go for the very top.

I can grab it most anywhere, BUT all it does when I do that is go across the screen not to the bottom. I've been trying to get the damn thing back to the bottom for 2 days. If i can't get the cursor to grab the very top I can't get it back to the bottom of the screen.

I don't know what to tell you -- I run Win98SE and my task bar moves from top to side and back easily just by clicking and dragging any open spot (where there isn't a program showing.)

Could your mouse be the problem -- if it's erratic or needs cleaning it mght not be dragging things accurately.

You have to drag the mouse in a sort of quarter circle.

Have you tried putting it at the top and the dragging directly to the bottom?
