How to Make Story More Interesting for Readers

I am still learning how to write better stories here. Sometimes I feel my story start good but later become little boring. Can anyone please tell how you keep readers interested from start to end? Maybe some tricks or advice you use when writing? Thank you for any help!

Some elements that can make your story interesting:

1. The plot - what actually happens, and more importantly why?
2. The characters - who are they? What are they like? What are their motivations? How do they interact with each other, what are the dynamics?
3. The setting - everything from world building to descriptive, scene setting.
4. Choice of words - two sentences can be vastly different in terms of how engaging they are based on the words chosen (or adjectives added)
5. Small details - particularly those which can help readers to relate to a character or situation
6. Emotions - what do characters feel? How does this change with interactions with others?
7. Humor - a little touch here and there can engage the reader
8. Pathos - particularly when it’s relatable
9. Tension - can you build it? And then release it?
10. Conflict - I don’t mean fisticuffs, but a clash in what people want
