How to make Laurel happy w/r/t noncon/violent stories

I've got a multi-chapter story I'd submitted that was rejected for two reasons main reasons -

Underage - I didn't specify 18+ and the characters' ages are not explicitly listed anywhere in the story. OK, fine, if that's a problem I'll bow to direction and add the typical wordy crap preceding the story. I'll grumble about breaking the flow of the story, but I'll do it.

The real kicker - "Is there excessive degradation, violence, snuff, or abuse of characters in your submission?". It's a non-con story, what can I say - should feathers only be used, instead of any other toys? Only caresses instead of spanks, squeezes, etc?

Yes, this story involves a lot of cruelty or violence or degradation, pick your term - that's a big part of why I wrote it, having people under extreme stress still end up being people with hearts and minds and all the rest, good and bad.

I've read other stories on here that, due to this reception from the owners I shan't single out in case I get them in trouble, but were IMO similarly or even more violent and degrading.

So, there's apparently some line between acceptable violence and unacceptable violence for Lit. Can anyone point me at some FAQ, guidance document, or the like to help me better understand Lit's position here? I can't believe I'm the first to run into this, but if there's something I'm not sure where/how to find it.

Thanks in advance,

You'd do better to ask on the Author's Hideout forum. Meanwhile, I know of no single document giving violence rules. What I know:

* No snuff, i.e. killing for sexual pleasure.
* No vile rape -- the victim must enjoy! the experience.
* Laurel doesn't think mayhem and dismemberment are erotic.

But ask other authors, not the general crowd.
