How to make a video?

The reason I'm posting this thread here on the AH is because I remember Joe Wordsworth had some YouTube videos he did, and I really don't know how much my GB buddies know about it. I know how to use the webcam to record videos, but I don't know how to get sound on the video. Is that even possible with all models or is it just a box you have to check when making the video?

How do I put together images and add a song as a video?

My first thought was to "take one Paris Hilton and any number of men and . . ." But then I decided that wouldn't be too helpful. Other than that, I haven't a clue.

I can tell you how to do it on a mac but not on a PC - different programmes.
On a mac, the easiest way is to edit the video/images and music on imovie. Once edited, output options include webstream, email or quicktime depending upon the use you have in mind.

Some webcams come with microphones some don't. Check the book.

If you have no mic then you need to plug one in.

The recording software that comes with the webcam will probably have sound software too.

Not too steep a learning curve but not exactly level either. If you're fairly computer savvy then the webcam part will be quite easy.
