A month or two- if not sooner.

I have a dentist bill to pay before I can go back in- and I need to go back in. It's not a lot, but to me it is

I could probably come up with about $200 by completly scrimping (in two months) but that still leaves $300 and I don't want to wait much longer than that. (don't want to wait that long at all if I can help it)

usually the dentist offices are really good about taking payments. you simply tell them what you can afford and if its resonable, they usually allow it. what can it hurt to try.

I can give you some offers if you want to sell your underwear. Some of them sound nice, but I just don't think underwear is something that should be sold used. If you have a pie sale I will buy a piece.

We've been making payments but it's been pretty hard and we haven't been able to pay on it for a little while now (other bills too); I called yesterday and they said they can't see me until it's paid off. [They actually have been very understanding, and I understand their POV.]

Anyway, it just seems like $500 shouldn't be too hard to come by-- somehow. But I suppose that could just be my wishful thinking. (any one know of any fast paying markets to try? Or anyother things you'd do in a pinch?)

I know, I know, I'm grasping at straws. But it's worth a try

Sell stuff on eBay or sell books, movies, software, and CDs on Half.com or Amazon.com. I do it all the time.

Only way I can think of is sports betting. If you can find the right bet, then it's worthwhile. Betting on Ireland vs England at the rugby is not a good bet. Betting big on England not to win the championship this year is.

Still pretty risky and not something I'd try myself, but it's the only way I can think of.

I was initially going to ask if that was by the half or full hour (halo), and for that, it's better to not get legal, but others beat me too it.

Seriously, if you've got kids of your own you're watching anyway, see if anyone you know is looking for some time out on the town without theirs. (Can't remember if you have kids.) Many parents would be happier with an adult, and you can charge pretty decent rates these days. You could even advertise locally - it's pretty cheap.

The other basics that aren't fun - saving money. Pasta for dinner instead of meat, milk powder instead of milk, cutting off cable if you've got it, etc. It's not fun, but it can get you through some tough times.

I've got to second the ebay thing, it might be hard work but you can make the money, at the height of my ebaying I was making a hundred pounds or more every week. So it really is worth trying...or do a carboot sale or something like that
