How to love conditionally

I've realized that i've never in my life loved someone conditionally. I either love them unconditionally or i don't love them at all.


If i'm going to make it through the next two weeks, i've got to prevent myself from loving the kids that will walk into my classroom in about seven hours. They may only be my class for one week. I can't be my usual self and take them in my heart.


Does anyone have any advice? How do you hold yourself back when your natural inclination is to give?

My first thought was if you ever find the answer let me know. And then the more i thought about it I decided this is the way i am and the way i'll always be so I 'm not sure i would change anyway.
