ok so Im English and hence backward and slow. I accept that. This is a good site but why oh fucking why do i have to log on every time i change a page and why do i have to accept the random acceptance of my log on, which the system doesnt tell me has failed untill i try to post, and then i have to log on again,?..... i spent 20 minutes tonight trying to reply to a post  S+M i understand but this is just outright saddism:) no offence but can someone tell me what im doing wrong? please? HELP!!!!!!

blimey. haven't a clue, mate. sorry. Hope someone who can actually help comes along soon..

Check your options (click the user cp button and then options) and make sure you have checked yes to keep cookies and browse board with cookies.

Not sure you're doing anything wrong. Personally I can't get into Lit the normal way ...eg the Home page and click on Bulletin Board...I just get a page that says they're updating the server and a link to read the stories. I can only access the forum through the stories page (hit the Bulletin Board link on that page).

What you're describing though is similar to if I access Lit from an email sent to me about a new post on a thread I've subscribed to. I can read Lit no problem but if I want into my User CP with my PMs etc I have to log in and I have to log in each time I want to change the page...it also won't let me post or reply to PMs although I think I can but it won't accept the log in to do it.

I can only suggest that you haven't actually logged in properly but no idea why. You might want to try logging into Lit through the story page like I do and see if that works.

Several anti-spam anit-porn syber-siters etc have listed literotica on their "bad" list. This can result in cookies (in not actuall pages) being blocked from the site.

If you don't see what you expect on a page, hold down the control key and click refresh/press F5. In IE, this is supposed to reload the entire page fresh, not using anything remembered in the cache.

If cookies doen't seem to be used (available), turn on the status bar (View on the IE menu bar) and then look at the bottom almost to the right. If you see an reb blob, double click it and see what cookies have been suppressed. If you see a literotica one then you cna go into the IE security lists (Tools/Internet Options Security and Privacy tabs) and look to see if Lit is on the restriced list.

Should you be using something more sophisticated like net-nanny or some ad blocking programs, etc. you will have to consult the lists that they keep.

I started out with another name here a few years ago. For some strange reason I can almost never use that name. Lit keeps telling me to log in, I do so (and I can see my name on the list) but it won't let me post or get to my control panel.
I deleted cookies, reset all the things I was told to reset and tried using that name from another computer; all avenues were dead ends.
I used the "contact us" & asked for help from Laurel and never received a reply so I made this name up in desperation and (probably because I don't really like the name) it "works."

If you find a way to solve your problem please let me know and maybe I can use your solution too.

thanks for all the replies, this is what i have found out so far.... (i did this edit to see if i had it right) if i try to log on to Lit via email messages in any way, either posting notifications or such like, it lets me see the relevant posts and keeps getting me to re log in, even though it tells me that i am already logged in (when trying to post replies etc) very frustrating!!!

However when i go to a thread via email or whatever, it gets logged in the computers history memory/thingy/place so if i click on the history in the top bar of my computer i get a list of sites visited today or whenever, so what i do now is access Lit via the history list, log in as normal and away we go. so far its worked ok so maybe its worth a try for any one else who is struggling.

i struggled to get onto lit at all yesterday but that was probably just volume of traffic.

also i improved my anti spy ware stuff yesterday, not through paranoia, just because i got fed up with my pc sending info here there and every blooming where!!!! Guess what........ i cant access Lit chat now! GRRRRrrrrrrr

Any way. good luck to all :D

I find Lit will timeout if you take too long to make a post or write a PM. You will then be required to log in to send it, the trick being not to lose your message in the process. You have to use the back button to find your unsent message , then send it.

This is interesting

I was going to start a thread on this same or similar subject today. Got sidetracked loading a new disk with XP, etc.

Tell me, please, if you go to Literotica.com, how are you supposed to "Log on"? Is clicking on Bulletin Boards the only way? then have to wait until we post something?
I have had the problem of logging in over and over like that other gentleman had to do.

Shouldn't we have a hyperlink or URL there on the main page that says "LOGON!"? Does it have to be so difficult? Really!

I have been logging in a much different way, since I could never find the LOGON prompt. I use "click here" in the story submissions page, which I have bookmarked, then select Forums from my submissions page, User Page, and never have to repeat logging on.

And, yes, Lit server had problems the last 2 days, so they don't count.

I, myself have a shortcut to my desktop to the general board.

I post so slowly that i often get "timed out" if it is a long reply.

I use something like Rough draft to write long replies, then cut and paste.

I don't have cookies enabled.

I have a password program to take care of passwords because i have several Id's and only have to log onto it once.
