How to get out of getting tickets...

Smile! (just joking...that doesn't work as often anymore!)

I try not to break the law..its so much easier that way. :)

First.. I try not to do anything illegal.

and if that doesn't work.. I make sure they see my security pass into the prison. 99% of the time if they see that I won't get a ticket.

:)

Heh, some funny answers. But seriously...I'm curious of how people get out of tickets if/when they get pulled over. I have yet to be pulled over and don't plan on to for a long while. Might help someone out in the future.

Honestly? There is no sure fire way to not get a ticket.. except don't break the law.

Trust me.. If they want to give you a ticket they will. Nothing you say or do will change that.

serious answer.

have your info current and readily available, no sudden movements, no BS excuses. NEVER ADMIT TO ANYTHING. Be polite not overbearing.

Uh um....I actually had a good little scam happening in my teens..whenever one of us was pulled over the passenger would pretend to be having an asthma attack.....of course the driver was rushing them to hospital - and if you were heading in the wrong direction its because your confused and panicky. Worked every time...even had a police escort on more than one occasion to the local ambulance or hospital.

I'd not reccomend it though. Speeding kills.

I've just plain honest to a fault!

I was once pulled over for not coming to a complete stop at a left turn. I looked the officer in the eye after he asked me if I knew what I did wrong and told him that I ran the stop sign.

BUT....!

I also told him bluntly that I did not think I posed a threat to myself, anyone else on the road nor to any surounding property. I was sooooo honest I could've squeaked! It was an honest admission of guilt and not to mention having a clean record helps too.

But yes, I admitted to my mistake fully & completely but with a disclaimer! Maybe the cop just didn't feel like writing me a ticket that night too, but I thought my candor & open admission didn't hurt my cause any.

That doesn't work here in the states. Atleast not where I live. I tried that one time.. You know what the cop told me?

It's better to get there safely than to die trying to get there.

How to get out of getting Ticket

Well of course the best way is don't break highway laws but if you do, then the best way to get a warning instead of a tickets is, Be sincere and admit you didn't or weren't aware you broke what ever law your accused of and it wouldn't happen again. 99% of the time you will get a warning instead of a ticket, but if you insist that you did nothing wrong the officer will let you prove it in court.

What's with the "99% of the time" in freakygurl's and Ferrophiliac's posts? Have both of them been pulled over a hundred times and only gotten one ticket each?

The one that worked for me was to tell the officer that i just came from the doctor and he just shoved a flex scope up my ass and i'm trying to get home so i can take some pain pills.

All so do not drive in Bremerton washington crooked cops and a crooked judge.

I read a columnist yesterday on Drudge talking about her son, his birthday (9-11), and officers giving him a pass...

So, carry your fake 9-11 Driver's License!

It's worked for me twice on speeding tickets in Indiana (where I live).

I don't know about other states though, although I speed (85 to 90mph on interstates) constantly when I make trips to family in Dayton, OH

I often get lyrics wrong, but here goes

"Last summer I heard them callin',
Four dead in Ohio..."

Where I live at, speeding is a relative thing.

If you live here, you're probably a relative, so you don't get a ticket.

If you ain't from here, YOU'RE GETTING A TICKET!

:D

Most times, EVEN IF YOU'RE OBEYING THE LAW!

See, they can always tack on extra charges once you get all riled up.

They've been watching COPS...

FYI: If you get pulled over in the USA by a state policeman never, i repeat NEVER, say 'hello officer'

They are a TROOPER, not an officer and hate being called such.
