Well, no, it's not. The more specific you are, the better advice our advice will likely be.

Do you have any experience with fingering? If so, what have you done in the past? Most guys have a general routine, which may or may not work well, in my experience.

What's your goal? Arousal? Orgasm? Relaxation?

There are some basic guidelines, such as those listed in that thread, but all women are different, and what works for one may not work at all for another. Trim your nails and moisturize

Trim your fingernails and moisturize your hands.

1) Trim your fingernails very close. Use a nail file to make sure they're dead-ass smooth with nothing to snag sweet tender skin.
2) Moisturize your hands. My recommendation is for several days to use vaseline on your hands when you get ready to go to bed.

The reason is that the grain on most guys hands is more significant than the grain on most women's hands. For a guy to make his lady comfortable, he should moisturize the HELL out of his hands, so they are as soft as they can possibly be.
