How to find editors when the editor section and the forum are unresponsive

Its becoming really tough to find an editor. The editor section hardly answers back. The forum is literally dead.
I got a good editor after nearly a month of searching and he helped me in 2 stories but he is currently having a personal problem .

I had already written 2 chapters of one series and 1 chapter of another but cannot find editors...

Which other forum is good for volunteer editors?

Also, on a sidenote,if a person has zero stories written and no followers, should it be automatic red flag. One person asked to send the story and after sending just said he just wanted to read it well ahead.

Mentioning a need on a thread here has always worked for me (and better than the Ed forum as you say - I did get an offer recently after a week, but had already acquired a kind beta reader/editor here for the story).

Some topics are more popular for potential editors than others - if you don't write incest or nice het stories, lots of people don't want to read.

I have to admit I have edited a couple stories and really regretted offering when the writing was terrible - one I sent back after a thousand words saying to please use grammar.

I've read others where I've only regretted not having enough time or skill to help them make a good story into a great one, but at least I could proofread and point out confusing passages - 'is this a flash-forward in time? Who is X? Is she the same woman as in the first section? Are they still in the kitchen or are they now in a different room?' etc.

There are few actual editors to get at Literotica. Suggest you go for "another pair of eyes" beta reader, which is good enough for Literotica. The quickest approach might be to see who is asking for help and who writes similar categories and themes that you do and suggesting swapping reviews.

Please remember that all the editors on this site work for free, giving others a bit of their precious time with nothing in return. If this were a pay site that had a budget for putting editors on salary, it would be a different scene.

But you asked if there's another forum where editors can be had more easily. I don't know of any.

Sorry if this came out as rude. I really thank all these editors who spend their free time to analyse some story and then edit them. They are doing a professional service for free.

All my stories wouldnt have been published if not for the hardwork of the editors..

I just wanted to state the issues I found while searching editors which wasnt there when I did a year ago...

The first time I asked for an editor, I also got no replies. But a few month ago I asked again. This time I added a link to my published works and got two replies. I now have an excellent editor. By providing a link to your published works, an editor can assess whether you're a good fit, IMO.

What you say is true, but there is such a thing as courtesy. That particular problem is what toasts my cookies. If a person is going to put themselves up as a volunteer editor, they should at least have the courtesy to send a reply, even if they are taking a break or any for other reason they aren't going to edit at that time. A pre-written form email would do the trick. And to be clear I'm not saying they need to explain why they aren't, just that they aren't.

But to just ignore a request to edit, while still leaving their name up as an editor is, to put it mildly, horse shit.

I tried several of the volunteer editors. Out of a dozen requests I sent, two responded with a yea, a few with a "not at this time", and over a half dozen just didn't bother to respond at all.

I'll counter as a volunteer editor. I replied to numerous requests to edit and was ghosted. After a few times, you stop offering.

And I've had more than one person contact me and stop replying.

Edit: the edit is screwing up the attribution. I'm only replying to Comshaw.

Yeah, that courtesy thing goes both ways. I guess I get a little spun up about it because I give what I expect from others.

Same. I've done a bit of editing/reading from posts here, and from the VE forum. I only offer if I know I have some free time to dedicate to the task.

The last person I helped asked for comments on an idea, then later to help with the editing/beta reading. I sent him some ideas a week ago and haven't heard back. Doesn't make me want to help down the track.
