How to find a co-author?

Have tried the BDSM Talk forum but seem to be getting nowhere fast - I hope nobody will mind a one-off appeal in the 'café'. Would anybody have advice on how best to seek out a female co-author on Lit?

I've looked around for a forum but there seems to be nothing specific to this kind of need.

I'm interested in producing erotic short stories with a BDSM twist. I don't want to do this in any public way but through private correspondence. Would be very grateful for any useful pointers.

When you see the results from this second attempt, you might want to consider the fact that the Venn diagram of people who read BDSM Talk and the people who read BDSM Café is a completely dark circle. One. Whole. Circle.

The more I understand what you're looking for, you seem to be seeking someone for role playing. Sure, it's a bit more involved, because of the story structure, but other than that, you want someone to get together with you (a female) and write something, maybe something derived from your co-mingling. Right?

If this is the case, I'd suggest you search in the BDSM personals forum. People here move around to different forums, so you might find you a writer there. When you think about it, writing out the parts in a role play is probably very close to what you're looking for.

No, thanks but really NOT looking for 'role playing' but for well-constructed narrative with depth of character and serious plot.

Above all, I'm looking for credible situations and protagonists such that 'suspension of disbelief' does not have to be stretched too far. I am sick to death of so-called 'erotica' on here which is a barely-disuised, simple description of fucking between he-man and pin-up, full of grammatical errors and misspellings.

I'm afraid I'm blessed/cursed with a mind which cannot tolerate this and I need someone who is similarly afflicted. So far, the response PMs have been from the usual Lit mixture of people unable to read and 'pretend females'.

I'm not trying to change your mind or opinion, but there are some fairly elaborate role playing threads. Some really get into the whole thing. No, it's not really the same as writing, but they do often have in depth character development and a plot.

I can also understand how you must feel. The more you refine your desires, the more difficult it is to satisfy them. Good luck.

Join the community and look. Try the Personals threads and the Author's Hangout. You could also LOOK at the role playing threads to get an idea of who could be a potential partner.

Stop waiting for PMs and actively look and invite. All you did was repost in practically the same place.

I wasn't belittling your thought. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Thank you and yes, I may eventually try the personals although these appear to be a pit of despair for people actually hoping to 'hook up' rather than what I want.

Seriously, to judge by what goes on there, I wonder whether anyone has ever found any relationship worth the name by using them...

So, Dorothy, why haven't you clicked your shoes together? Weeks ago we gave you the idea of getting involved in the Author's Hangout over on the other side of the river here in Lit - what happened? There you'll find a much higher concentration of writers than here and many of them are kinky as well. Further, you'll find plenty of people there who are into experimental writing methods. Honestly, based on the way you've conducted yourself so far, I'm not sure you really want to find a co-writer but you do seem to enjoy acting as if you did.

'Conducted myself so far'..? 'Weeks' ago..?

Thank you.

Dorothy thinks she's found a munchkin...

That's because the post was a typo. Should have read "catsignal."

Well, shit, why don't you just tell him the butler did it and leave the nice penguin out of it?

It's hard for me. I get excited.

And this was "Hunger Games" meets "Sudoku" with a smattering of "The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake."
