Avatar and profile picture -- these can be uploaded when you get to 100 posts/comments level. OK, got it.

But how do I put anything meaningful in the Additional Information section of my profile? From what I see on profiles of other people, there should be questions about biography, location, interests, occupation and maybe something else. But I can't find them anywhere :(

There is an "Edit Profile" link in the CP, but the only two things I can do there are change my password and e-mail.

UPDATE:
The Edit Options section in the User CP is currently broken.
No date has been given to when it is going to be fixed.

I'm just giving this a shot. From the chatter I've heard for some time, the profile function of the so called "old control panel" is not working. Below is a link to the so called 'new control panel sign-in page'.

If you're unfamiliar with the new CP, once logged in you'll see a list of options on the left. Choose "Options". This will open directly into the profile field. (On the top of the Options page there is also an email change field.)

No promises, but I thought it might be worth a try. This is a very common issue/question lately.

ETA: After posting, I just tried to change something on my profile and it did not change, so I guess this won't work either :(

While I am happy to know it wasn't just me having trouble with the profile, it stinks that it's broken. :-(

It has been broken for a long time. I searched high and low for information regarding this months ago. Finally just gave up.

I hadn't even thought to check the threads for info. Smh Guess I am stuck in NY forever. Lol

It's not "new control panel" vs. "old control panel". Rather, there is a separate profile for us here on the forums than for other parts of Lit, like the stories and authors, and the chat rooms. The link you provided takes you to that one. The forums are, from what I've heard, the lowest priority when it comes to maintaining things, as they have the least traffic. After all, the place originated for writers of erotica.

There a couple of workarounds - one, you can write a brief profile and put it in your signature, and it'll show up with your posts. I know one user who begins it by saying to "please ignore her old info under the profile and read this instead" or something to that effect. OR you could fill out the profile that does work and then put a link to it in your signature. That perhaps is the more elegant solution.

Hey folks...

Thanks for all the feedback and ideas! AnnieLit: To answer your probably now moot question: When I click on "Edit Profile" the page for changing my password comes up instead. I tried goin' into my Lit profile from the Literotica story page (...Mother Lit? I dunno...)—I can edit that profile, but it's simply a different, 2nd (or 1st, depending on where you started on this site) "member profile" and is not connected to the info in my forum profile.

Blabbin' on, apologies. I can't help myself at times. ;)

Mostly, I'm thrilled with how y'all strive to be so helpful in this informative and enlightening thread. Thanks! :rose:
