How to end an adultery tale

I am finally finishing up the second part of my story Sharons New Workout . It is an adultery story (wife cheats behind hubbies back) so if you don't like it, you've been warned.

Anyway, I am having trouble coming up with an ending. I have several ideas and everyday I think a different one would be better. So I thought I would make a short poll and see if anyone had any preferences or interesting additions to add to the story. Also, please feel free to add any comments on this topic or the story as a whole if you like.

Here are the ideas I keep going back and forth on:

1. Infatuation just wears off and the lovers part ways, with husband never finding out. Though the wife swears she will never stray again. (Or does she???)

2. The lover treats the wife badly, not abusive, just inconsiderate, being constantly late etc. The wife is for some reason drawn to the guy even though he is the opposite of her husband. She makes her decision...Then the story ends, leaving the ending ambiguous.

3. Boyfriend meets the husband and really likes him, not romantically, and feels more guilty about what he is doing to his new friend, than what the wife is doing to her husband. He is the one who ends the relationship and wants nothing more to do with the wife.

4. Wife realizes after doing some soul searching that it is her husband she loves and ends the relationship, and thinks of it as her "mid-life crisis."

5. Boyfriend is moving, wife asks to go with him, but he says no because he wouldn't be able to trust a cheater.

6. Wife drops boyfriend and picks up another lover while staying with her husband.

7. Affair keeps going and there is no resolution.

Parts of these ideas could be combined.

I also could do each of these endings with different stories, but I think I want to try something a little different next.

Some topics I prefer to avoid because they have
been done to death in my opinion. (Though I'm sure most of these ideas also have been done to death).

1. Husband finds out and like the idea or watching.

2. Wife leaves becomes a slut and husband has to start over again.

3. Wife gets blackmaled by third party.

4. Wife starts screwing everything that moves or becomes a "whore."

Again please feel free to make any comments or suggestions.

you could end ambiguously after climax, as many if not most Lit stories do. I used to tie up the loose ends, but found I got a lot of feedbacl wanting the ending to be at the climax.

I would probably chose #4, as it seems to me to be the most honest, at least in my experience. If you know the character really well, one of the endings should just feel right to you. But like Sirhugs says, leaving it open at the end is good. Sometimes a long, drawn-out denouement will detract from the climax. I find though that the moments after sex are usually an opportunity for really profound thought. Maybe it's just me, but I end up applying that attribute to a lot of my characters... they'll have sex and in the moments that follow, make some fairly significant observations or decisions about their life. I like to leave it at that--the big thoughts that follow the climax.

The end. or not the end

Personaly i like the blackmail ending but then that's what i'm into right now.

From the other choices, i prefer.

The lover moves away................tells wife to get lost as she is history........broken hearted she returns to hubby, but she enjoyed her affair so much she is determined to find have another, sometime.

Personally, I'd go with option #2. Both characters seem to me to have a different angle in how this relationship is working (he has other women he can come and go with, she's married, etc...). It just so happens that their paths are crossing and they're taking advantage of an opportunity.

I re-read it - I can see a lot of fun possibilities for a sequel. My mind conjured up an outline for how I would do it, but I'm more curious to see what angle you too to complete the sequel.

Besides, "cliffhanger" endings usually leave the reader wanting more. (I know I've felt that way in many books I've read and even in movies I've seen. You get that feeling like "Oh, they've just got to make a part two now!")

And then, if you want, you can add a "part two" weeks, months, or even years later...

How to End

I'll admit I haven't read the story yet, but instead of asking us how we would end the story why don't you ask the most important person how they would end the story. That person being Sharon. It could be fun to write the story maybe with a series of questions in your head and try to answer them how she would and build a story around those themes or answers. You'll probably come up with an ending you hadn't even considered, plus Sharon knows the answer to your question even if you don't. I think it would be a good exercise in character development.

Went back and read the story. Then realized I had read it before. Not sure if the second 5 will count.

Here are a few of my thoughts. Such as they are...

This won't work. Any body new to the story's first part will have already read about Sharon finding her husband in bed reading the paper. And, she tells him all about it.

2. The lover treats the wife badly, not abusive, just inconsiderate, being constantly late etc. The wife is for some reason drawn to the guy even though he is the opposite of her husband. She makes her decision...Then the story ends, leaving the ending ambiguous.

This could work. After all, he did take her car keys from her, put them down his pants and made her go after them.

3. Boyfriend meets the husband and really likes him, not romantically, and feels more guilty about what he is doing to his new friend, than what the wife is doing to her husband. He is the one who ends the relationship and wants nothing more to do with the wife.

This could also work. After all, the husband does already know about his wife having a lover.

4. Wife realizes after doing some soul searching that it is her husband she loves and ends the relationship, and thinks of it as her "mid-life crisis."

This would have worked if added to part one. MAYBE if you begin with a few more sex scenes between Sharon and her lover, you could end it this way.

5. Boyfriend is moving, wife asks to go with him, but he says no because he wouldn't be able to trust a cheater.

I don't think so. The lover bit is already something established between Sharon and Jake. (sometimes a plot twist can royally screw up a sequel.)

6. Wife drops boyfriend and picks up another lover while staying with her husband.

Very doable. Perhaps husband wants her to take a second lover, and she does. But then finds the second lover to be that much better then the first.

7. Affair keeps going and there is no resolution.

You could do this. Perhaps with some involvement from the husband. But don't. I don't like it. (Like that's reason enough? ) Maybe the little blond in the first part ends up being the lover's sister. Husband does the sister as Sharon does her lover.

Parts of these ideas could be combined.

Maybe not necessarily by a third party. After all, the lover was taking pictures of Sharon with his cum on her wedding ring. When I read it the first time, I looked for blackmail in the second part. But there wasn't a second part.

4. Wife starts screwing everything that moves or becomes a "whore."

This might be a bit much...

Okay, my suggestion.
Part two opens with Sharon and her lover at the gym, setting up the particulars of when they'll be able to have sex in her bed. In part one, she had said it would be in a couple of weeks. I'm assuming that her husband is going on a trip at that time.

Lover again takes more pictures of Sharon in her bed. He even takes a few using the timer on the camera to get pics of Sharon sucking him off, straddling his dick, etc. None of the pictures have his face in them.

Sharon wants copies of the pics, so they exchange email addresses. She doesn't tell her lover that she wants the pics to share with her husband.

When her lover emails the pics, he tells her how all of his room mates in his apartment liked her pics. And he tells her that eveybody wants her to be the one. He threatens to email the pics to the school district if she refuses. She is to work out a schedule where she can go to the apartment three days a week. While there, she is to clean, do laundry, and have dinner on the table at 5 o'clock. She is not to wear any clothing at all and whenever a room mate needs her services, she is to oblige.

(How does she explain the blackmail to husband? How does he react?)

When they all graduate, she gives them a big send off. But starts to feel lonely over the summer. When school starts again in the fall, she posts an ad on the college's bulletin board. "House Mother Available. Rates very agreeable."


Okay, maybe I got a little carried away. Besides, it doesn't really end the adultery like you had asked about. And, you said you were getting close to ending the second part, not close to starting the second part. I must be horny this evening.

Just a riff off Raven's comments. She suggests that "Wife leaves becomes a slut and husband has to start over again." is done to death.

I do not recall a lot of that exact sequence. Wife often becomes a slut, yes, but in these stories, that would be before she leaves. Further, I think " hubby boots her out" ( a variation I don't love) is MUCH more common thah simply her leaving. As the " hubby starts over", that opens the plot up to all sorts of refreshing twists:
~story is about first wife, as told to new wife
~story is about same thing happening a SECOND time to same hubby
~story from the wife's POV, how she watches ex hubby restart
~story about hubby's happy hunting adventures after, with flashback sequences to the first wife
~etc....
