In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a self-professed feedback whore!

I've submitted 8 stories so far, and many have been averaging over 4.5, so I'm very pleased. However, I've yet to receive any comments from my readers, even though a handful have added me to their favorites list.

Is there any trick to encouraging your readers to provide feedback?

Thanks.

Be careful for what you ask.

Maybe category has an effect. Also developing a fan-base seems to help, though that's just from seeing other writer's comments, not my own!

I know the readers for the Interracial genre tend to like to leave comments. They do on Loving Wives, too, but unless you find insults amusing, they're probably not what you're looking for!

Don't really know about the other genres, and I've personally found blatant begging not to be much help though others have stated the opposite.

One of my most read and highest rated stories has 14 comments. That is one comment for every 1367 people who clicked on the link.

It seems completely random.

Other than promising a cock pic to every non-anonymous commenter, I can't think of anything which would encourage more.

What a fantastic suggestion! :kiss::rose::kiss:

Not sure that would help!

A welcome  for the little newbie from the good little witch.

Hi, John, and welcome to Lit. and the AH in particular. I ask for comments, and that seems to help. At least I started getting more when I started asking. I try to avoid begging, and just say I appreciate any comments. :)

Ah. That must have been my mistake. That glimmer of inner neediness just puts them off.

"Please, pleeeeeze, puuuleeeease, oh won't you please leave a comment?!? I'm begging you! Just this one time? Right here? I'll do whatever you want! You want titty pics? Cyber? Your car washed? The soap scum removed from your tub? ANYTHING!!!"

It's just not working for some reason. :D

They might not be taking you seriously. Here is what I say:

Thank you for reading this story. I hope you had as much fun as Mary and I had. I like writing stories on Literotica, but I like it a lot more when I know that people are reading and enjoying them, and I appreciate it when readers take the time to express their opinions by voting. Like most authors on Literotica, I practically live for feedback from readers, either public comments or email to me. Such feedback, whether praise or criticism, helps me to write more and better stories, and I respond to it whenever I can.

I was just teasing since you picked up on my word "beg".

I begin my stories with this intro:

'Hello and welcome to my readers. Thanks for your feedback, votes and PC's on my previous stories. They are appreciated'.

If they like it enough to leave a comment, I'm pleased. :D
